Astonishing, stunning... This was well worth every cent. Of course the Sistine was breathtaking, but the art we saw up to that point also was incredibly rich and beautiful. Our guide spoke perfect English and was nothing short of brilliant. He provided insightful comments on art pieces as well as lots of fascinating history. He also answered every question with impressive knowledge. Fantastic!!
I'm still have chill bumps from being in the Sistine Chapel practically by ourselves.
This private tour was The Highlight of our six week Italian holiday
Being in the Sistine Chapel alone was well worth the price we paid. We went into rooms in the Vatican off limits to the public and got to see all of the highlighted items and places without spendin the entire day trying to discover what to do ad where to go
Our guide Shannon was a walking knowledge of information. Highly recommend this tour. If you can request Shannon you won't regret it.
Mina our guide not sure of spelling was amazing. Very detailed tour, secret areas closed off to the public. We had our own dude opening doors for us. Even parts that were closed off for renovation. We spent time in the Sistine Chapel and even got a picture when no one was looking. HIGHLY recommended! Mina was very passionate about the history and it showed. Very much appreciated!!
Shannon was an outstanding tour guide. Being an Art History Major was definitely a plus. She was extremely enthusiastic about her presentation and kept the entire group engaged. The pace of the tour was appropriate. She was extremely knowledgeable about the subject matter.
We would definitely take another tour with her as our guide.
Our guide was fantastic. The experience of being almost alone in the Sistine Chapel as well as in the private rooms, was amazing. So much knowledge was shared. We do not hesitate to recommend this once in a lifetime tour. If you are going to do just one luxury tour on your trip, this should be the one.
WOW....worth every penny. 13 of us spent 30 minutes alone in the Sistine Chapel, FANTASTIC. The private rooms were really cool too, our tour guide was excellent, very knowledgeable and informative.
This tour was awesome. Seeing the closed off rooms and the Sistine Chapel with only a handful of people was incredible. I would recommend this tour as an augment to a standard Basillica tour.
Having the opportunity to see more of the Vatican and to review the Sistine Chapel unhurriedly was a thrill. Our guide was very knowledgeable and most at ease when discussing the history and specifically the art history of the areas that we explored.
It was great visiting some of the areas that are not open to the public, and being able to spend a half hour alone in the Sistine Chapel was well worth the cost.
The absolute best part of our entire trip. Well worth the expensive price tag and a once in a lifetime opportunity.
While the cost of this tour is a great deal, it was actually a great deal for us as it provided a once in a lifetime experience! Being in a very small group touring part of the Vatican Museum and especially the Sistine Chapel was amazing. Spending about a half hour in the Sistine Chapel with a guide who informed us of what we were seeing and its history, as well as able to answer any questions that we had was worth the whole cost just by itself. Fantastic!
This tour was simply amazing and worth every penny. Our tour guide, Sev, was an encyclopedia of knowledge and full of wit - we learned so much about the history, artwork and artwork in the Vatican museums and the Sistine Chapel. Our group size was small - maybe 12 people tops. We felt like true VIPs being allowed to venture into secret rooms and private galleries to view the Sistine Chapel after closing, and without other tourists was a once-in-a-lifetime experience. The photos you can take are unparalleled. If you are willing to spend the extra dough this is worth it!
Expensive but absolutely well worth every cent! A once in a lifetime opportunity to see parts of the Vatican museums closed to the general public. And to be part of a very select few in the Sistine Chapel was something I will always treasure.
This was the highlight of our time in Rome. Sev was a wonderful tour guide. He was very, very well versed in history, details and anecdotes. The small, intimate group made the tour all that more special. I will definitely recommend this tour to friends of mine.
WONDERFUL! Manuella was a most knowledgeable guide, it was all very efficient and we loved every moment.
This was the highlight of the tours we took while in Italy. Not only did we get to see a lot of what the typical larger group tours saw, but we we shown so much more!!! Our guide in a professor there in Rome and he was absolutely amazing! His knowledge and storytelling outstanding! Not only did we get to see so many things not open to the public, but then to walk into the Sistine Chapel and have time alone to sit and admire the works was the best. They don't allow you to take photos while in the Sistine Chapal, but it's ok because you could never do it justice in an image anyway. Plus you can take photos every where else. I would do this again in a heartbeat!!! So glad we were able to do this. I suggest doing this tour on a Tuesday evening if possible and then going to the Papal Audience Wednesday morning.
While VERY costly it was well worth the money to see some of the more unique areas of the Vatican and to have the opportunity for a narrated and guided visit to the Sistine Chapel. They even allowed photographs to be taken in the chapel! Highly recommended.
Shannon was a great guide and this is a lovely tour if you want a little bit of luxury by not having a large crowd shuffling you through the Vatican museum and Sistine chapel. A full half and hour in the chapel with a guide who majored in fine art is lovely as well as viewing some private rooms and the Raphael rooms in a group of 12 was wonderful.
