This is the ONLY way to see the Sistine Chapel. No crowds, no noise, no rush, able to view it and respect it for the art and beauty as it was meant to be. In addition we had the ability to view several things that are not on the normal public tours in the Vatican Museums. Our guide Shannon was wonderful! A wealth of knowledge, friendly, and it was obvious that she enjoys this tour very much as well. Well worth the money!
I highly recommend this tour. It was amazing to be in the Vatican with our small group to see the Bramante tower and other rooms that are not available to the general public. The half hour we spent with just our small group after hours in the Sistine Chapel was worth the price of admission. When we were in corridors with the general public, it was easy to appreciate the time we were able to spend in the private areas with only our small group.
Amazing experience! Sev was an awesome guide. Loved the personal time and attention and ability to have a private experience in the Sistine Chapel.
OMG!!! Worth every cent... This was without a doubt the highlight of my trip to Italy. First if all, our tour guide, Shannon, was amazing. She's clearly very knowledgable about the Vatican and the artwork, but made the tour extremely entertaining with inside scoop stories about the art/artists. The access to the private rooms, balcony, and Raphael rooms without a crowd was awesome, but the private access to the Sistine Chapel was priceless. Being in the Chapel for 1/2 hour without a crowd really gives you enough time to take in everything,
This was an amazing experience. Our guide, Stella, was very knowledgeable and personable. The usually off limits rooms that we were able to visit were fascinating. And the after-hours private time in the Sistine Chapel was a once in a lifetime experience that we will always treasure.
Was almost unreal to be in the Cistine Chapel with only 11 oter people for 30 minutes. Also was able to shoot pics in musemum with know one else in pic. Our guide was one of the best we have ever experienced.
Our guide was amazing. A professor at the university who brought the history alive. He made the history approachable and did not present just facts and figures, but brought the times and the people alive with his narrative. The Sistine chapel was awe inspiring and we enjoyed the time without the crowds. A very special afternoon we will not forget.
We are very reluctantly giving this a 5-star review simply due to the fact that we cannot give it a 10-star review. Please let us explain. There are three reasons to spend the money for this tour. 1 It, indeed, is a very small group and as such will give you ample opportunity to ask questions and discuss everything you see including those areas that are typically off-limits to the general public. 2 To visit the Sistine Chapel without the crush of a 100 or more people and be able to hear a thorough explanation of all the art is a rare privilege 3 To have Tiffany McIver as your guide is an experience very few will be able to claim. She was nothing short of the most knowledgeable guide we have experienced in our history of tour taking. We rarely bother to write reviews of tours but Tiffany deserves to be commended and praised for a supremely excellent presentation. Without her, the money would have been wasted. If you are lucky enough to have her for your tour, you will understand.
Outstanding. The tour guide had a PHD in Archaeology and was extremely knowledgeable about the museum and the Vatican. The after hours in the Sistine Chapel was worth the tour alone. I did this and the breakfast tour and this one was far better since the museum and the Sistine Chapel were both pretty empty at night.
We reluctantly signed up fo this trip so expensive. It was phenomenal and worth every penny. Our guide Seve was fantastic. I would highly recommend it. Definitely a highlight and well worth it.
This was one of the best tours we've ever been on, and I've been on a number of them with this company. Sev was brilliant at providing us the history and context, and kept the pace doable for all. Having the private time in the Sistine Chapel was icing on an already amazing cake -- a perfect tour in every way! Spend the money on this tour, you won't be disappointed!
An amazing tour, so many wonderful works of art that were highlighted by our extremely knowledgable guide. We will have vivid memories of our half an hour in the sistine chapel without any crowds , just the 8 of us on our tour and our guide, a exoerience of a lifetime. Have just booked another tour of st peters
Mikela was excellent. Her depth of knowledge and passion for art not only comes through but allowed us to gain a better appreciation of the art work looking at it more critically. Would highly recommend her as she made the tour very enjoyable and worthwhile.
Wow to have the Sistine Chapel to your private group - Simply amazing. Sev, our guide, made this tour more of an experience with his knowledge and understanding of the history surrounding the Vatican.
It was an amazing experience. Be able to appreciate SIstine Chapel in a small group is an incredible experience. Have been to SIstine Chapel over five times. This was no comparison. The guide was knowledgeable and very professional. Thumbs up for sure. Would do this one all over again.
All I can say is WOW! This was worth every penny. To be able to walk into the Sistine Chapel with 7 other people and be able to take pictures makes this worth it. We also got to visit an old apartment of a former pope and Leonardo da Vinci's apartment. This is definitely worth doing!
The trip was better than I'd hoped. Our guide, Laura, was great. There were twelve of us in the group and we did get access to a lot of interesting spaces that wouldn't ordinarily be accessible.
The main event, of course, was the Sistine Chapel and yes, we were there alone except for one guard. I think we had it to ourselves for 45 minutes. It was a great value!
Astonishing, stunning... This was well worth every cent. Of course the Sistine was breathtaking, but the art we saw up to that point also was incredibly rich and beautiful. Our guide spoke perfect English and was nothing short of brilliant. He provided insightful comments on art pieces as well as lots of fascinating history. He also answered every question with impressive knowledge. Fantastic!!
I'm still have chill bumps from being in the Sistine Chapel practically by ourselves.
This private tour was The Highlight of our six week Italian holiday
Being in the Sistine Chapel alone was well worth the price we paid. We went into rooms in the Vatican off limits to the public and got to see all of the highlighted items and places without spendin the entire day trying to discover what to do ad where to go
Our guide Shannon was a walking knowledge of information. Highly recommend this tour. If you can request Shannon you won't regret it.
Mina our guide not sure of spelling was amazing. Very detailed tour, secret areas closed off to the public. We had our own dude opening doors for us. Even parts that were closed off for renovation. We spent time in the Sistine Chapel and even got a picture when no one was looking. HIGHLY recommended! Mina was very passionate about the history and it showed. Very much appreciated!!
Shannon was an outstanding tour guide. Being an Art History Major was definitely a plus. She was extremely enthusiastic about her presentation and kept the entire group engaged. The pace of the tour was appropriate. She was extremely knowledgeable about the subject matter.
We would definitely take another tour with her as our guide.
