It's our second trip back to Rotorua (especially to do the LUGE again!!)...Loved it just as much this time! Got there early (to avoid crowds and queues) - good move! By the time we'd done our 5 luge rides, the queues were very long. The Staff wear shirts saying, "Once is NEVER enough!" Too true! Definitely glad we did the 5 rides each...could've kept going! Hadn't intended buying photos this time around (as we did that 3 years ago) but the family photo in the Gondola was so lovely we had to buy it. Surprisingly (these days!) we didn't need to wear safety shoes and long trousers...shorts and 'flip flops' were allowed. We were even allowed to carry a back pack or camera bag as we went hurtling down the tracks...although there are lockers for NZ$2 if required. Kids of all ages can ride...either on parent's lap (cute!) or on their own (from about 6 or 7 I'd reckon). We even saw an old grandma putt-putting along which was lovely. It truly is a great way for entire families to have a lot of fun together. The chairlift back up to the top of the mountain is fun too. We wish there was a Luge track in Brisbane (and 'dream' of starting one up ourselves). Probably cheaper to fly back to Rotorua next time we get the urge. DO IT!!!!

So fun! A must do! This is such a neat little attraction in Rotorua. The gondola offers great views of the city and the luge is a thrill! There are a couple of courses (beginner, intermediate, advanced) and each one is so much fun. You actually get air on the advanced track and hit top speeds! I could have spent all day on that track!

Both the gondola and luge were fun. We had a race on the luge (no guts, no glory) and hit some good speeds. It was so easy to drive too, you'll pick it up very quickly!
Must do the luge rides if you love adventure and being on the edge. You can get seriously hurt on expert ride. Gondola ride was good, can appreciate vastness and beauty of area with mountains in the background. All gondola rides are about the same in Australia, depends what you want to see.
The 1500 foot gondola ride was less than spectacular but interesting. Enjoyed the restaurant for lunch at the top. Should have opted for the 5 luge rides.
Lovely spot great view, good facilities for everyone
