There were beautiful views, but the house was somewhat disappointing. Only a few rooms were available to see, and all of it was a restaurant.

This was an excellent experience. We were completely clouded in, however, so there was no view at the top. There were snow banks in May. It was more fascinating in retrospect than as shared with crowd of strangers.

We thoroughly enjoyed our excursion to the Eagles Nest. Our guide was very humorous & informative. It was a pity that the weather was so bad that it spoiled the views from the top of the mountain.

This is definitely worth doing. It is quite expensive for what it is; there is nothing beyond the drive up and 30 minutes up there, but the views are spectacular and it's eerie knowing Hitler was there.

It was a great tour; the only drawback was that the day that we went it was very misty, so we didn't get a chance to see the views. It's definitely worth checking the weather before you go.

This tour is very weather dependent. The weather on our tour reduced visibility to about 100 metres, so spectacular views that would otherwise be there were not; consequently, there was not much to do at the top. My advice would be not to book well in advance as we did but instead to book when you arrive in Salzburg and the weather can be better judged. The tour operators are fine and actually picked us up at the hotel on time. The buses were very good, and the on board trip commentary was good and entertaining.
My only criticism is about the attempt by the driver and the guide to extract extra money from us at end of trip by asking for money to be placed in a hat as we exited at the end of the tour. It was embarrassing to me to disembark past the guides without donation. The tour fee is substantial after currency conversion and should provide adequately for the staff. If not, adjust the fee accordingly. The very small number of coins in the hat surely does not justify the "cap in hand" image created. You expect that in some countries, but not Austria.
Well, what can I say. Having been picked up from the hotel at the time we were told and taken to a drop-off point to swap onto the tour bus, the day got of to a good start. Once we had started the tour, it was obvious that the tour guide and bus driver were a double act to behold - they were on form. This accompanied by the beautiful scenery when we got out of the city made this a day to remember. The tour guide was very informative and really knew his subject matter, and a lot more besides. At Berchtesgaden, the location and the skill involved in building the Eagles Nest were breathtaking. I would recommend this trip if this is the kind of thing you like. Very memorable.

The only bad thing about this tour was that it took a long time to get up to the top of the mountain. Though we enjoyed the fantastic views, we didn't get to spend much time up on the top. The sights, however, were breathtaking.

Great tour but bad tour guide. Eagles Nest was truly worth seeing, fantastic scenery and truly amazing! It was the highlight of our trip.

Could have been a bit more history about the Nazis, not just the construction of the house.

We really enjoyed going to see the Eagles Nest it is an amazing sight with amazing views and a great drive to get to it, and in that respect it was great! However our guide was not the greatest, for starters we had one German couple on our bus and about 25 English speakers on board, but half the commentary was in German, meaning that we did not find out as much as we would have liked to about the history of the site. I am sure that the Germans spoke English too! Once we got up there we were given a very limited time to see the actual sights as they were running two tours off the same bus and we had to be back to the other tour site to pick up the other group and felt that we were rushed through the place and that once up there we were not guided through the building. Also our guide was quite abrupt and at times rude! I would definitely not recommend this operator, but I would recommend the Eagle's nest as it is an amazing sight!

I understand that a trip to the Eagle's Nest isn't recommended for cold, foggy and snow-threatening days, but even still our tour guide didn't seem to want to tell us much else in the way of history of the building itself. I was extremely disappointed. Not worth the extra money spent at all. Since I already had a Salzburg card, I could have taken a local bus to the tram site and paid the trams there to take me up. I'll not be recommending this tour to anyone else.

The view from the Eagle's Nest is breathtaking, one of the nicest views you'll ever see. Definitely worth going. With that said, we only had 30 minutes up there, and then we only had about 20 minutes to eat. We felt rushed the whole time. Don't go to the cafe the guide recommends because it takes a long time and you will not get to see Berchtesgaden. It's probably better if you go up by yourself and go on your own time. WAY TOO RUSHED!

The scenery was great. There was less to see historically than I was led to believe, and there were a lot more people trying to see it than I expected. It's amazing how many people want to see a place whose connection with Hitler has been mostly erased.

This was interesting, but I had thought there was more to see. We did not have enough time in the town to see anything; we only had a 35 minute lunch stop to get order food, get served and eat.
