While you travel, learn fun facts and behind-the-scenes stories about the classic musical and sing along with some of the beloved songs playing in the background.
Travel toward the 17th-century Schloss Hellbrunn (Hellbrunn Castle) to visit the reconstructed garden gazebo where Liesl and Rolf sang ' Sixteen Going on Seventeen.' You'll also see Schloss Leopoldskron (Leopoldskron Castle), the Von Trapp's lakeside residence in the film.

Afterward, drive to the stunning region of Salzkammergut and marvel at the Alpine mountains and glassy lakes featured in the opening scenes. Pass the charming village of St Gilgen, home to the movie’s mountain railway.
Next, spot the yellow church in Mondsee where Maria’s wedding famously took place. Then, return to Salzburg to discover two more iconic locations: the Mirabell Palace and Nonnberg Abbey, where the convent scenes were filmed.
Your 4-hour tour ends at the original starting point. Since this is a private tour, be sure to list any special interests you have at time of booking so that your guide will know them in advance, and then, on the day, talk to your guide about any sights you want to see more or less of, so they can tailor your itinerary around your wishes.

Our guide Helen was excellent and was very flexible with our group of 8. We had plenty of photo opportunities as we drove through the Austrian countryside, and she was very knowledgeable about the area and the movie that spurred us to take the tour. A wonderful tour that we would highly recommend to anyone with a group that values the flexibility that a private tour affords.

This is a must if you're a group! Our charming tour guide/driver Helen was very knowledgeable about the movie, the actors, the real family and the locations pertaining the Sound of Music theme. This is a great way to tour around Salzburg and its surroundings without having a fixed to the dot schedule as it very customizable to your group's needs.

When Sound of Music was released in 1965, I took all my friends to see it. I was so impressed with the beauty of this movie. Over the years, I have seen it many, many times. To be able to see many of the locations where it was filmed, was a dream come true. Our guide was very knowledgeable, which made our trip both informative and entertaining. We would recommend this tour to everyone. Salzburg is a lovely city.

This private tour was the highlight of our European trip. Our guide was very informed about the sites we visited, and was flexible when we asked for an extra stop. My young travelers were thrilled to see the scenes where one of their favorite movies was filmed. I am glad we took the private tour. I believe we were able to travel some of the smaller roads where the big buses can't go. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone traveling in the area. Super!!
