Fantastic tour! Our guide, Walder, was knowledgable about the area and so friendly! The salt mines were a great experience - slipping down the slides was a lot of fun! The mountains and lakes in the afternoon were spectacularly beautiful and Lake Wolfgangsee was a perfect finish. Highly recommended!
Excellent, good value for money, thoroughly enjoyed the mine it's certainly a little different from the run of the mill tours.
Salt mine tour was fun and informative. The Austrian lakes are very scenic and well worth visiting although we did get caught in a torrential downpour at one point- which in itself was a great experience.
very pleasant and quiet tour, the view from the lake is very nice and the cities that we saw were very cute
Our guides were (different guides for morning and afternoon tour) friendly. Salt Mine tour in the morning was very fun! The mine's display of information was impressive. I particularly liked the part when we took a boat across the salt mine lake.
The second part of our tour-lakes and mountains was good as well. Our tour guide gave a lot of explanation and stories. The sceneries were breathtaking. However, in the Highlights of this tour stated "Enjoy a boat ride on Lake Wolfgang to the picturesque village of St Gilgen". But there was no boat ride..... I was very disappointed with this. I asked the guide but I couldn't catch clearly what he was saying and I didn't pursue the matter. Probably due to different season or something, hence we were brought to a cafe for free coffee and cakes. But we did see people taking boats across the lakes..... If this is not included due to different season, I'd appreciate if we were told before hand. I was very disappointed that there was no boat ride across the lake, otherwise I would give this 5 stars.
Very unique tour with a lot of useful information to be learnt plus a train and boat ride thrown in.
The salt mines tour was well set up and we enjoyed it. The lakes were lovely and it was a good tour.
The Salt mines tour was good and informative. The Lakes and Mountains tour was not very infomrative and we didnt get to see as much as we had hoped to and had heard of about Salzburg Lakes District
it was a good experience at the salt mines .. and a beutiful scenary while cruising on the lakes.. over all had good fun.
We were expecting more than what was offered. It was only the boat ride on lake Wolfgang and the town square. Not value for money compared to other tours we took.
These two tours were a little confusing. We went on the Mountains and Salt Mines tour, then came back to Salzburg and got on a bus for the other Austrian lakes tour. It wasn't what I expected. They split the group so half went to the Salt Mines tour, and the other half of the bus went to see the Eagle's Nest. Then they picked up the Salt Mines tour, and the other group went to the Salt Mines. It really felt less like a tour and more like shuffling around tourists between tourist attractions. The Salt mine was interesting and fun, but something we could have probably done on our own. Since we weren't part of the group that went to the Eagle's Nest, I couldn't comment on that. The second half of the day we went with Eric to St. Wolfgang and took a lovely little boat taxi around the lake. The town was quaint and pretty. This was the only part of the tour I would recommend. The rest you could probably do better on your own
