Amazing! Didn and #39;t realize how much of a fan of the Sound of Music I was until I got on the tour. Beautiful scenery.
So much more than just the Sound of Music. Perhaps my favorite tour on our entire 2 week trip! Our tour guide really added to the enjoyment of this tour.
This was a full day of sightseeing. The walking tour was great. So much to see and well explained by the guide. The sound of music tour was fun and funny. The guide was very animated and entertaining. Singing in the bus and the church where Marie got married were a highlight. The apple strudel was to die for, with custard and icecream! Value for money
My daughter requested this and we had a fabulous time. Salzburg was our best experience!
Both of these tours were very well done. We really enjoyed them and found them worthwhile. Our only suggestions would be that walking group tours be provided with whispers to be able to hear all that is said without difficulty.
Excellent tour including itinerary and tour guide. A remarkable experience
An extraordinary experience. Had it on the feast day of St. Rupert and the 50th Year of Sound of music. Our guide Ms. Barbara was par excellance and couldn't have enjoy the tour much with her added dingos comparing the reality and the Hollywood version of Sound of Music.
An exceptionally comprehensive, enjoyable and educational tour of all of the major Sound of Music sites!!! Thank you very much for the local tour company and Peter - our guide!!!
Our tour guide for the walking tour Antonio was extremely knowledgeable and explained the sights and history of Vienna that you would never know if doing the walk yourself. He never tried to rush the tour and gave tips on the best places to eat etc. the Sound of Music Tour was in one word EXCEPTIONAL and our Tour Guide Natasha and driver Nikos added humour to the afternoon. Thank you to the local tour operator for the professionalism offered on both tours. Loved Salzburg and hope to return for longer one day
Whether you're a fan of the classic musical The Sound Of Music or not, you will enjoy this tour, as it takes you to breathtaking views outside of Salzburg. I learnt a lot about the real Von Trapp family, and also all the behind the scenes Hollywood making of the movie. The guide we had was David, and he was very informative and full of knowledge and passion of the movie. He also did his very best to engage the group to sing, but unfortunately the tour I was on were fairly quiet, maybe because it was also a hot day and people were tired on the bus?!
I came to Salzburg purely because of The Sound Of Music, and it was definitely worth the trip, because I've found anther charming city in the world!
Walking tour needs to start earlier we had to leave early to make the sound of music tour. Had little time to grab lunch. Really enjoyed both tours
Fantastic. I was a little disappointed in Salzburg until we took this Walking Tour. Our guide showed us the real Salzburg and gave us some really interesting facts and stories of the city and it's highlights.
We followed this with the Sound of Music Tour and had so much fun. Our guide for this was fantastic and he kept everyone entertained for the entire 4 plus hours. Great stories, great information, great scenery.
After these tours I fell in love with Salzburg and it was one of the highlights of our European vacation.
Amazing tour, fantastic guide who has a very witty sense of humor. The places we visited where all fantastic. Highly recommended.
1- Excellent tour guides for both walking and Original Sound of Music tours. I highly recommend this tour to everybody visiting Salzburg.
2- Barbara, the Original Sound of Music Tour guide did a great job.
Highly recommended! One can go back in time and relieve the Sound of Music of one's youth! The tour guide facilitated everything very well while ably sharing info about the movie's sights! My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed the tour!
Guide for the walking tour seemed impatient with us. He raced us through the tour and cut 30 minutes off the time. We didn't have audiovox support so unless you were right next to the guide you didn't hear a word he said. So, no stars for the Historical Walking Tour. Now, the Sound of Music portion of the tour was great and lots of fun. Peter is a great guide, funny, informative, accommodating. wonderful. We had a good time and would highly recommend getting on the bus with Peter.
It rained the day I took this tour, but we saw a lot of the sights from Sound of Music. The tour guide, Peter, is extremely funny and entertaining. Had a good time!
An excellent day on both tours. I recommend the walking tour even if you have seen a bit of Salzburg already. The guide Erich was humorous and informative. The Sound of Music tour was generally very good. Singing on the bus adds a bit of fun.
We had a wonderful time. Peter did a great job and when he sang you would have thought it was Julie Andrews.
Having just returned from a fabulous Sound of Music Tour in Salzburg via Viator. I would like to recommend both the tour in Salzburg but also Viator in general as trustworthy. If you go on the Salzburg trip make sure Peter is your host as that man is just naturally hilarious. He's a talented, sharp witted, guy in Lederhosen weaving in all kinds of stories and jokes including co-opting his driver in to be his Ernie Wise straight guy. My partner and I had a fantastic day full of laughter, good spiritedness and the charm of the sound of Music settings and songs. It was lovely to see the tree lined avenue that Maria did her Confidence in me song to see the summerhouse and the church and the mountain and much more. We'd actually go again and hope to see Peter once more....He is that good!
This was amazing. Our guide in the walking tour was so knowledgeable and not only explained what we were seeing, but the best way to see things in and around Salzburg. And the sound of music tour was also amazing. Great guides, well planned and so entertaining and informative. It's a must do!
This combination of historical walking tour and the famous sound of music tour offer great insight to the city history and the stories behind sound of music movie. The only down side is that the tours would take up almost a day, if you only have one day in Salzburg and would like to walk around the city/do some shopping, you wouldn't have much time outside of the tours. So I would recommend this package for people who have more than a day in Salzburg.
