What You Can Expect
Next up is Balboa Park, a 1,200-acre (490-hectacre) urban park filled with lots of open space, gardens, museums, and theaters. Then, discover the Gaslamp Quarter, the historic heart of San Diego popular for its nightlife. You'll also see Seaport Village, a waterfront shopping and dining complex, and the Embarcadero, an area along the San Diego Harbor.
Charming galleries and boutiques are found along downtown's Green Dragon Colony; this was once a collection of cottages for writers, actors, artists and musicians. Make your way to Coronado, an affluent resort city in San Diego County, which is famous for its impressive 19th-century Hotel del Coronado.
Several photos stops along the way allow you time to step off the coach to stretch your legs and admire attractions up close.
If you like, In lieu of visiting Seaport Village, upgrade your sightseeing tour with a boat cruise of San Diego Bay. Take in a different view of the city from the water while relaxing on board a comfortable boat and listening to commentary about the area.
This tour was amazing!
A very professional guide, he was really helpful, he had lots of information and a good sense of humor. He took us to the zoo in the evening, he didn't need to do that, he was just a kind person. You get to see the most important sights in San Diego, the city is quite big so it's worth taking the tour.
Tour guide was Mike and he was excellent throughout the day, keeping all participants engaged with his lively banter. Our first tour of this kind and we thoroughly enjoyed it. We were given ample time at each stopping location to walk around and take pictures. Certainly worth it and would highly recommend. We plan to try the aquatic one next that also goes into the water.
The tour was great. We got a good overview of the city and really enjoyed the boat tour and the time we were allowed to look around at the Del Coronado hotel. The chance to see the seals was also a big highlight of the tour.
Sightseeing tour was good. Next time, I will try one of those hop-on hop-off ones instead.
The Harbor Tour was spent on a boat with overwhelmingly Chinese tourists. A German tourist was quite put out by their poor manners, and an Australian couple voiced a similar sentiment. My husband says they pretty much tried to push him off the boat when disembarking. If you are not looking for a Chinese commuter train experience, be selective about which boat you get on for your harbor cruise.
The cruise itself is beautiful. The city is beautiful when viewed from the harbor.
Our tour guide is nice and friendly. Tour was not complete as described on the website, e.g. did not visit Balboa park due to constructions (?), we went there by our own the following day and didn't understand why the tour bus couldn't get by there. We decided to book this tour just because it also includes a visit to La Jolla, otherwise would take Trolley tour instead to have more free time.
did not take this tour, the phone contact person was rude . The information re the tour details was misleading
