Read what other Viator.com travelers think about the USS Midway Museum. What they loved, what they liked and what they think could be improved, it's all here to help you make the most of your next trip.
It was very informative. The guys really enjoyed it. Parking was close and easy to get to.
Parking was slim but the overall experience was educational and very well put together. The audio tour allows you to proceed as you want or are able. Very much recommended.
So much to see and the staff and helpers were so helpful a great day and tour
Got straight to the entrance with a Viator Voucher. A huge place to visit which needs at least 2-3 hours. A very good demonstration on a US Aircraft Carrier. This veteran vessel has gone through multiple war operations and is a true legend in Aircraft Carrier history.
Fabulous tour if you like military or just great big machines. There is lots to do here in the alotted time it is open (10-5) so put aside the full time to see and try everything and spend time in the gift shop. Only downside was my 9year old sun getting his camera stolen when he sat in one of the cockpits.....that sucked.
If you are in San Diego....make sure to see this iconic ship.
This is a unmissable experience! There are few places where you get to explore an aircraft carrier, and also see some of the worlds most famous jets and helicopters. You even get to sit inside some of them! You get access to most of ship, including the eating areas, sleeping areas and also the engine room and really get to experience what life was like at sea. This is well worth the money; I could have spend all day here!
Fantastic self-guided tour! My 9 year old granddaughter loved sitting in the plane cockpits and following the narrow halls throughout. Very educational too.
The USS Midway tour was an incredible experience. I was a sailor in the 80's on the West coast and saw Midway many times in action. The numbering system and self guided tours are the best way to go as there were some parts like the radio room ( I was a radioman) that i wanted to stay for an extended period of time. This tour brought back so many memories and was so enjoyable. My son who is a current candidate for appointment to the Naval Academy was blown away and further confirmed his desire to be a Naval officer. Take your teenage sons and daughters to see this amazing historic ship, but be careful they might just get the bug to serve.
This is an outstanding opportunity to see how important a strong military can be. It also shows the hardships of living for months at a time in a confined space with little opportunity for individual privacy. Too many people are not aware of the long hours put in by crewmwmbers with no overtime pay.I highly recommend this tour for all ages although the climbing of ladders can be difficult for some. Overall it is a great tour.
