Great day trip. Guide on time and very informative. Alcatraz is very cold and windy, so take a jumper or two. (May)
Not much leg room on this particular bus if you are tall.

Alcatraz was a realistic experience if I ever had one. Real convicts and workers giving you the tour through a headset. You walk through each section and experience what it was like so many years ago. Muir woods was awesome! The trees are magnificent. Nature is just beautiful. And Sausalito, gorgeous!!! It was a beautiful town near the water, great shops and restaurants. I also loved it because it had my name on a keychain. I will definitely be paying it another visit.

Alcatraz in the morning - great history lesson - well organized tour. Excellent tour.
In the afternoon it was Muir woods and Sausalito, peace and quiet of the woods to the charm of the Sausalito. Overall a magic day - an essential tour when in San Francisco.

Wonderful tour notwithstanding uncooperative weather. Our tour guide, Aaron, was incredibly knowledgeable, super-friendly, and funny. He made our day and this tour was our favorite part of our SF trip.

I would highly recommend this tour for anyone interested in getting the most out of their San Francisco trip. Alcatraz was my favorite part, but that's not to say that Muir Woods and Sausalito were not fantastic as well! Tour guide was funny, friendly and very knowledgeable of everything we saw. 5 stars well deserved!

We took the bus early in the morning to Muir Woods. We were the first bus there, so it was very peaceful and magical in the woods. Our driver, Kenneth, did a superb job narrating along the way and even sang a song or two. If Whitney Houston were still with us, she'd have to keep an eye out for Kenneth...but, I digress. Then it was off to Sausalito where our family had lunch at "Spinnakers" on the water. We dined on great food while watching the sailboats float by. It wasn't cheap, but I thought it was worth it. Then we headed back to "Frisco" (please note: apparently the locals hate it when we use this moniker) to head over to Alcatraz via ferry. The audio tour on Alcatraz is top notch. It was an interesting tour that really gave you a sense of day-to-day life on Alcatraz with a few jailbreaks mixed in. Our family of 5 (kids ages 11, 15 and 17) all enjoyed this trip aside from some in-fighting amongst the children in Muir Woods. The woods would have been much more peaceful and magical at times without the children.

This was a great tour for the time that we had in San Francisco. Although there was no hotel pick-up, we were on 1 1/2 blocks from main office. Tour guide was great and was very informative. Made a great pleasure to on tour with him (Jason).

Loved the tour! From the very start we walked up a mountain in Muir Woods (without realizing how high up we were going). We took some beautiful pictures of the mountains. Just being able to breath in fresh air at that altitude was an experience within itself, especially when you live in the midwest. The bus ride up the mountain was extremely informative. We were able to eat a quick meal or go shopping in Sausalito. The Alcatraz Tour was exciting. The Alcatraz Tour is really fun starting from the boat ride to the island to finding out all that transpired when the jail was opened. It's almost a bonding experience with the people who lived there.
