Alcatraz was interesting and very well done! Lining up beforehand on way there was very well organized. On the return trip, it could've been better.
Joe, our driver from Pier 35 for the City tour was definitely un-smiley and maybe even a tad grumpy when he picked us up....BUT....he proved to be an excellent guide, giving us all sorts of info about the city! We had done the Wine Tour by then and so hearing some facts for the second time about San Fran was just great!!!
The tour went OUT of the city and to parts Land's End and Twin Peaks! we would otherwise never have seen.
Great tour with a great guide!!!!
We had an amazing time on this tour, the trip to Alcatraz was brilliant make sure you take a camera but the coach trip was a total surprise, it took us all over and was so interactive with the driver giving his 36 years of history in neary 4 hours of sightseeing. We highly recommended this package to anyone visiting San Fransisco.

My only suggestion would be if you could do these tours independently of the other, i.e. on seperate days. That way you would get the most of these very in formative tours.
Great driver - Chabli. Was very knowledgeable of the history of San Francisco. Alcatraz was quite sobering.
It was a great tour as we got to not only take a ferry trip around Alcatraz but also a superb closed bus tour of Golden Gate and a few landmark places in SFO. Thanks Viator
This excursion was very good. The price was right and the tour guide was very good. The tour guide took us to all the landmarks and all the important places to see in San Francisco and to provided us with a lot of information. The tour to Alcatraz was also excellent.
Had a wonderful tour and our driver Aaron was very knowledgeable, friendly and funny. He provided such great information and just wish we had longer to spend in San Francisco. The tour to Alcatraz was also a wonderful experience and I would highly recommend this tour.
Wonderful tour guide--full of great information!! Very thorough tour of the city.
A really good day. Picked up from our hotel, superb Alcatraz tour then a fun tour of San Francisco. A great way to see the city.
Great tour! The audio tour of Alcatraz was the highlight for us. The city bus tour was also fun and exciting. The tour guide was very personable and knowledgeable. We enjoyed the personal recommendations on where to dine, shop or just hang out. I've been to SF several times but never got the chance to see some of the sites provided on this tour.
I was great and very complete tour of the city. First the boat trip was fantastic the views from that perspective were amazing of the city, Alcatraz and both bridges was incredible. And then the city tour on bus was excellent. When you finish that city tour you feel like you know all san francisco. Highly higly recommended this tour.
fantastic tour, very well organised. My teenage children learnt a lot from this tour, and really enjoyed it.
Would recommend it to anyone.
This was a very worthwhile tour. Alcatraz is a must and the bus tour was excellent with a very knowledgeable gude, plenty of photo stops
I was persuaded to buy early because tickets were likely to sell out. So, I purchased a combination Alcatraz/City Tour for 79.99 plus tax/each.
The emails I received confirming my purchase were very inconsistent and unclear regarding where to meet and at what time the tour began. So, I thought arriving at the only email with the address 2627 Taylor Street 30 minutes prior to the earliest noted time 10:00 a.m. would be sufficient. However, when we arrived, the attendant was rude and said our tour departed 30 minutes PRIOR to our arrival. She said You're 30 minutes late. To which I asked if we could get a refund, and she said we could walk to the pier and see if they would allow us to get on the ferry to Alcatraz late. She said to walk the 12 blocks within the next 5 minutes, so we ran. When we arrived, we exchanged our 80 vouchers for 2 tickets with the price of 31 dollars marked on each. So, what was the other 49 for??
We got on the 10:30 ferry to Alcatraz and enjoyed the audio tour and explored as much of the island as we could, then returned to the pier. We had no idea what time our city and trolley tour departed and where to meet it, so we hustled back to the location at 2627 Taylor Street. The same rude employee said we had missed the tour- again. She said the tour had left at 2:00. It was 2:45. I asked her how we were expected to know that if there were no signs, no times posted, no indication and since she had attended us in the morning, she could have told us then. So, I asked her what I had spent 80 on, since the tickets were clearly 30. She shrugged her shoulders and told us she'd allow us to do a hop on/hop off tour. So I asked what time that was, and she said, your bus driver is out front. So, I went to ask HIM, and he said, he would be leaving at 3:15.
By then, I was so frustrated with the behavior and attitudes that I decided to take my money business elsewhere and write this review instead.
It is a DISGRACE that this
went out of their way to be nice and accommodating. Our driver, Chablis, was extremely knowledgeable and accommodating. I would definitely recommend this tour to my friends.
Would like to really thank our tour guide Antonio. Nothing was too much trouble at all. He was smiling and cheerful throughout even though it rained throughout the city tour. We had booked our tour prior to leaving Wales. We saw the sights and it was his cheerful banter that kept us going through the incessant rain. We booked for Yosemite the following day and were extremely pleased to get Antonio once more. Rain followed us again but we were pleased to get some snow at the end of the day.
Antonio lent my daughter his raincoat and was extremely attentive to all the passengers throughout the day. He ensured the were all well looked after. It was my birthday and unbeknown to me had everyone on the bus singing 'Happy Birthday' as my family and I were crossing the bridge. A huge thank you to Antonio and a very big thank you from me for making our trip that much more special. Thank you - we will never forget you.
Was great to see Alcatraz, the weather came out nice for the trip too. The San Fransisco city tour was interesting and fun guide/bus driver. This was my fourth day in San Fransisco and I had already seen a lot of the City by this time, so probably a good tour to do when you first arrive. I hadn't seen Twin Peaks though and that was the hi light of the tour and the tour was interesting. The driver dropped me off in North Beach so I could get to my next tour which was great as I didn't have time to get back to the Hotel and come out again.
Was great driver Kabush was awesome knew his way around and was very good at pointing out things along the way
