Awesome!! Had a blast! The GPS tour was the best tour I have ever taken !
This tour was so much fun that we went back and booked it again for the following day. We drove everywhere including city traffic and parks. It was almost like riding a motorcycle with a sidecar. The GPS system was terrific. We never got lost. It kept us from going on roads that were too steep and it even had a sense of humor. I highly recommend this tour.
We had a great time and it was a lot of fun. The only issue I had was on the day I went to pick up the Go Car they didn't have down that I had reserved one. I had called ahead and verified also. I ended up spending 45 minutes before they got it straightened out.
We rented 2 GoCars for some friends that came into town. It was actually a lot of fun and despite some of the negative reviews about breaking down, thank goodness we didn't. I was also concerned with how big the GoCar was. One of the guys is a tall 6'3 but he fit perfectly. Any taller may have been uncomfortable. Parking was still a pain but probably could fit 3 in one space, tightly. The parking garage charged us motorcycle rate which was nice, but you may want to mention it. We zipped all over San Fran and we loved the GPS/tour guide. Some good information historically. The GoCar was easy to get adjusted. I can't even tell you how many pictures were taking pictures of us, we made sure to pose. haha! It was a lot of fun. We rented for 3 hours and it was perfect. We also rented on a Monday and thought traffic would be less which it probably was but not from the Ferry Building down to the Wharf...if you can avoid it, I would. It's a lot of bus exhaust. Overall, it was an awesome adventure and very happy we did. I also suggest upgrading to the higher power cars. Climbing those San Fran hills...the extra $15 was totally worth it!
I was able to go everywhere I wanted to go and then some. I rented the car for 8 hours and went all over town, literally. I burned $0.79 (cents) in gas and used $2.00 in parking fees. The open design of the car allowed my son and I to view everything. That is hard to do in a conventional car. We were also able to go places tour buses were not allowed. The verbal tour was very helpful also, we learned a lot about San Francisco.
Totally worth it!!!!!! My mom and I took one of these bad boys out for three hours and absolutely had a blast. While our GPS navigator stopped working about 30 minutes (total fluke) into our tour, we had enjoy the scenic views and navigating the city using the map provided in the car. We made the most of the situation and laughed for three hours straight. Our highlight was realizing we had to drive down Lombard St... Laughed our butts off. You cover pretty much the entire city!! We highly recommended to everyone we met.
FYI: These things don't reverse, so you might find yourself doing a little Austin Powers 3pt turn arounds... with a push. Hil.a.rious. ps. You'll feel like a celebrity - everyone takes pictures of you in these things.
Best thing ever, a shame we only booked it for 1 hour, could happily done full 2.5 hours. Great tour and a lot of fun
Was absolutely fantastic. A great and fun experience, the best way to see the sights and the outskirts of the city.
We had a blast! I have been on the go car before, but my friend had not. It's great not having a roof on the car so you can see everything. The car goes as fast as the traffic most of the time. The drivers of reg cars were very courteous. I went on a weekday before and that was better because of the traffic issue. On the weekend we didn't get far, because of the traffic, until we went off of the main roads, which meant no tour voice. Bring a pillow to sit on because your butt takes a beating...no padding on the seats. Servio and the other staff at the O'Farrell and Mason location were helpful and accommodating. Viator has the best price and availability. The gocar website had no cars available, but Viator did! I already told 4 people to go through Viator to book their trip.
