Fantastic day at Alcatraz audio tour fantastic ,and to follow it with the bay cruise capped off a great day,I would like to thank Viator it made American travel so much easier.
Great tour of both Alcatraz and the boat cruise.
Alcatraz is not all jail it is a great island to watch wildlife and explore.
The Jail is at the top of the island and the tour provides headphones which describe the jail as you walk around it in every language expected.
A great experience and one which should not be missed. It really takes you back.
Had no problems collecting our tickets. With both functions, it was a busy afternoon! Would recommend this tour.
Alcatraz was so informative and interesting
Bay cruise was great and included good food
The sunset cruise was lovely. Marcus was terrific, really enjoyed his relaxed manner and great singing. Your bay is beautiful
We enjoyed both trips! I ran into a problem with printing my tickets however, the people at both booths were very helpful and printed them for us.
Excellent tour ,the only downside was long queues in the sun ,not enough cover for everyone waiting ,and although I booked on line with you months ago I wasn't given any choice in the time of my tour Al bough your confirmation gave several available times ,so that wasn't good as it really messed up our day and my sister and I are both seniors and found the day very long as we ended up with one of the last times
We really enjoyed our trip to Alcatraz and also the Sunset Bay Cruise. Both were very good and just enough time between the tours to explore the Pier area in San Francisco.
On Day 4, we went to Alcatraz the Rock. If you stay at any hotel in the Fishermans Wharf area, you will see this island. You cant leave without going here. Plus the pictures from Alcatraz of Downtown San Francisco or the Golden Gate Bridge are pretty awesome. Later that evening about 7pm, we took a Sunset Bay Cruise which served food around the Bay and sailed under the Golden Gate Bridge. This was about 96 per person. I will say that you may want to make reservations for the Alcatraz tour about a 2 month out.
The Alcatraz tour was ok and informative. The views of the city from Alcatraz were fantastic.
The Sunset Bay cruise was fabulous and should not be missed. A buffet dinner desserts very good and 2 drinks with chez mix snacks were included. It was the highlight of my San Francisco visit.
We were glad to of booked with viator before we left home as no tickets for Alcatraz were available for at least 3 weeks!
We had no tour guide but the explanation for picking up tickets was clear and worked out well. The timed ferry worked out and is only a short journey, we had the audio tour which is really good and has people who were their explaining facts and what life was like.
The cruise was good and the Buffett was a lot more than we expected with sandwiches, salad, fruit and cookies a good selection. You got to see some good views as well as the bridge passing by and going under.
Absolutely brilliant tour of Alcatraz so much history and the audio tour is so informative.
Sunset cruise of the Bay Area is stunning with the views of the Golden Gate Bridge phenomenal.
Would recommend these two tours as excellent , also the food on the sunset tour and bar facilities were A Grade.
a great time. the weather was on our side and we had a great sunset. Yes we saw Alcatraz again on the cruise but it didn't matter as it just looked even more impressive with the sun setting. Fantastic food, there was so much for everyone and a lot was left over for seconds if not thirds!!!
Excellent Trip. Lots of information on Alcatraz, Also are given headphones. free to roam around the island and jail. Good gift shops.
Great trip, very efficient boarding and landing to Alcatraz and you could catch any ferry back
Sunset cruise was amazing- live singer 'marcus' was great. Food amazing shame we had eaten tea before we boarded. Thought it was just nibbles but buffet excellent and what we had very tasty. Drinks on board not over priced. Cruise amazing, went around Alcatraz good to see it from a different angel and in different light, went round angel island and into sausclido bay- lovely view of the harbour. Then sailed under the golden gate bridge at sunset- truly magical, staff very helpful and friendly always there to take pictures of you. Boat not over crowded- easy to get seats. Fab trip would recommend
Really enjoyed this tour, and woulda recommend. However tour description indicated the food was to be a light appetiser when in fact it is a meal, so do not eat before the tour, as we made the mistake of doing.
Very informational, and the cruise in the evening was relaxing! The appetizers were more like dinner!!
Fantastic! Alcatraz is a must see and the sunset cruise was great! We were very lucky to have a beautiful clear day!
Service and quality excellent on both the Alcatraz Tour and Sunset Bay Cruise couldn't have asked for more really, would recommend to anyone who is looking to take advantage of a dual package
This trip is absolutely a fantastic way to spend a day in SF. By buying the trip package in advance you avoid the long lines to buy a ticket to Alcatraz, if they are available as trips sell out. I was there on 6/29, tickets to Alcataz were sold out until 8/3!! When you get to the Rock you get a headphone set and little radio so you can go through everything at your own pace. And the Sunset cruise is a two hour ride through SF Bay and into Sausalito and under the Golden Gate Bridge. Great photo ops along the way particularly the SF skyline at night all lit up. Nice finger food on the ship small sandwiches, salads, etc.
All in all this is a great value for the money and the best way to use your time as everything is done in advance. Great value for the price!!!
