What You Can Expect

Monterey, Carmel and 17-Mile Drive Day Trip from San Francisco

Private Monterey and Carmel Day Trip from San Francisco

Take a detour from the urban bustle to experience the wild beauty of Northern California’s coastline. After morning pickup at your San Francisco hotel, cruise down scenic Highway 1 and let your guide handle the driving while you soak up magnificent views of the Pacific Ocean and waves crashing against the sea cliffs.

After curving around the majestic Monterey Peninsula, stop in the charming coastal city of Monterey. Enjoy 2 hours of free time here to grab a fresh seafood lunch on the pier (own expense), browse the shops of Cannery Row or upgrade to come face-to-face with jellyfish and sea otters at the famous Monterey Bay Aquarium.

Continue along the coast with a drive down 17-Mile Drive, home to the prestigious Pebble Beach Golf Course and the iconic Lone Cypress tree. Listen for the barking clamor of Seal Rock with a stop along this low-lying coastal road framed by luxury mansions and incredible ocean vistas. Further along, visit the chic coastal community of Carmel-by-the-Sea, where you can browse high-end galleries and see remnants of a historic Spanish mission.

On the return drive to San Francisco, take an alternate route through the innovative tech haven of Silicon Valley. Your full-day tour concludes with drop-off back at your hotel in the early evening.

Outstanding tour. The weather was cool, windy and rainy, but the views were spectacular. Our driver did an excellent job and gave us ample opportunity to see the sites and take pictures.

Driver was great! Most informative. Could use some more time at the aquarium though! We were a half hour late getting off, driver said it was because the traffic was lighter. Could have used it for the aquarium. The stops on 17-mile drive were great!

Great day trip away from the city .... Interesting. Felt bad and mad about what the rascals did to the iconic tree at the the 17 mile drive. Wish we had time to catch the Mission open, that would have been another great stop. Overall many things learned. Your driver/guide was excellent.

The tour was absolutely amazing and Adolfo our driver and guide was great!! He was very knowledgeable about the areas we traveled through and about Monterrey and Carmel. He also had some great recommendations around town as well, especially for dinner :-). I highly recommend this tour if you are interested in seeing some great sights and doing a little bit of shopping. And if Adolfo is available for the tour, I recommend you take it with him, best guide I had in San Francisco so far.

Awesome! The driver was very friendly, informative and professional. The only thing we didn't know, was the time we would return, unless I missed it? This is a great way to see the coast. Sit back, relax and enjoy the ride! Highly recommend.
