Our driver was awesome! The stories he shared with us along the route were fabulous, and the views were incredible. My only wish was that the entire trip would have been longer. I would recommend this adventure if you only have a few hours but want to see the magnificent trees and drive through the town. If you want more time in Sausalito, plan to take the ferry back, but all in all- this was a great adventure.
Excellent. Muir woods was stunning and the ride up there an experience in itself. We left the tour in Sausalito and came back via the blue and gold ferry which gave us more time for a quiet lunch and to explore the town.
A wonderful experience, knowledgable driver all with being courteous and on-time.
The trees are breathtaking and Saucilito is so beautiful/charming. This was probably my favorite thing I did during my 4 day stay in San Fran. Bus picked me up right on time at my hostel.
Nice tour. The bus driver that picked us up at the hotel had horrible language but the driver who took us to Muir Woods was very nice and knowledgable. Very nice tour.
This was a great tour and the experience of seeing Coastal Redwoods and Giant Sequoias was superb. The driver was very knowledgeable about the history of Muir Woods and Sausalito and his narration added to the experience greatly. For both Muir Woods and Sausalito you cross the Golden Gate Bridge from San Fransisco which is a tourist thrill in itself. For any travellers worried about the degree of any walking involved, this is entirely at your own discretion. Boardwalk footpaths run through the woods, so you can walk as far or not as you wish and you have about an hour and a half in the woods which we found was plenty of time. Benches and a refreshment and gift shop is also available. The second half of the tour is in Sausalito, where you get about an hour to see small independent artistic shops, cafe's, and boutiques. The bay is always close by for fantastic views across the Sausilito harbour and to watch sea traffic come and go. The tour picks up from city centre hotels in the morning and returns you to the hotel doorstep later, which made the tour easy to access. I can thoroughly recommend this tour and think it provides good value for money.
Muir Woods is an ecological marvel . The giant redwoods are breathtaking and the trqail going through the woods offers many different aspects of the forest.
Sausolito was great and the ferry ride back to Fisherman's wharf offers great views.
A very nice half day trip.
Had a fantastic day. I loved the Muir woods and could have stayed there the whole day. I would recommend doing this tour first thing in the morning, by the time we left there were huge groups visiting. Our driver was great and shared lots of interesting facts about San Francisco and Sausalito. The time spend in Sausalito was just enough and the driver gives excellent tips on where to eat. We went to a little Delhi he recommended and it was very yummy. The best thing was he stopped on the way back so we could take pictures of The golden Gate Bridge
A fantastic experience! We were entertained at the pick up point for our trip by the banter of the friendly tour staff - no delays experienced in setting off for our trip. Our driver provided us all with interesting and amusing commentary at various points in the trip. The Muir Woods itself is a place of peace and tranquility. We were also amazed at the scale of the Red Woods. Sausalito was beautifuly quaint and we all enjoyed the experience of crossing the Golden Gate bridge. The only downside - the half day trip was too short!!!
Our tour guide was really knowledgeable and pointed out lots of interesting things along the way. The woods were beautiful, peaceful and quite. I do wish we had more time there but we were able to take lots of great pictures while we were there. Sausalito was a really cute little town with mostly shopping and restaurants. We opted for the ferry boat ride back to San Francisco so that was really nice too. A good day and well worth the price we paid
Wonderful tour, driver very knowledgable and entertaining, nice option in Sausalito to take ferry back. Only negative - at start of tour when given ticket it would be nice if they gave you your bus number as it was a little confusing as to which bus to get on, other than that it was a very well run tour.
