The tour itself was amazing. The staff was very friendly, the weather was amazing, the view are incredible. The craft was a beautiful catamaran - stable yet you get the feeling of the water. I loved the nets that you were able to sit on in the front of the boat; really got to feel everything! Also, booking the trip through Viator took a matter of minutes and was very clear and straightforward. Will do this again, hands down.
great experience! fantastic crew- friendly and knowledgable. The boat was well-maintained and comfortable with plenty of space outside and inside for everyone. The route was lovely: around alcatraz, under the golden gate bridge and back. And as an added bonus, it takes off from pier 39- right where the sea lions live, so you get an up-close view of them.
For those concerned, you don't really get wet (unless it's raining). There's a possibility of getting wet if you're standing in the wrong place, but the crew will warn you. I was comfortable bringing a good, not-waterproof camera with me. It WILL get chilly though, so plan for that (it IS san fran after all)
Great day on the bay. Seeing from the water, the city, the bridges and surroundings, makes one realize how wonderful this entire area is. 90 minutes with 30 or so people on a 60' Catamaran under sail is much better than the big barges packed with people. Bit more money but longer and better cruise.
The boat is large and stable with plenty of room for passengers. Our crew was great, ready to discuss sailing in general and quick to point out wildlife and noteworthy points of scenery. We had a fairly stiff breeze for our trip, and the boat cruised right along without much heeling (leaning). My wife is sometimes nervous on a sailboat with a lot of breeze, and she really enjoyed herself.
We call my husband "grouch" for good reason! his beloved Giants were on a downhill skid and he was not a happy camper....till we boarded a catamaran with the SF Bay Sailing company! we listened to instructions from the bearded captain and had a couple of gals help us choose a good place to sit or stand...then we were off! My husband clung to the bow of the boat and he was suddenly transformed into Jack at the front of the Titanic, or even a pirate looking for treasure! he smiled the entire time, a strange sight for those of us who know him..and then a strange sound errupted-he was laughing! it was the highlight of our trip! The crew were helpful and outgoing and the Captain even let my nephew steer the boat. We have been to the City many times, but this was a new experience for us...I will recommend this to everyone I know! I am horrible with names, but the gal with the Aussie accent was awesome! Love, love, loved it!
Fantastic way to spend a few hours touring the bay! Great skipper and Crew. We had a blast!
Such a wonderful experience. We want to go again. Advice is to bring a brush and ear plugs or ear muffs if you have sensitive ears bc it gets very windy.
Cruise around the bay was great! Crew was friendly and skilled. Scenery was perfect, catamaran was awesome and we all had a great time! Took our 3 kids (4,6 and 9) and they loved it too. It does get cold and windy so bring jackets--or the company has them there for you to use. Will definitely be back!
We loved it! There was plenty of room for moving around and seeing everything. The kids were nervous about walking around at first, but were quite comfortable by the end. The 90 minute tour was plenty of time to see everything and relax and enjoy the day.
We took the 11am cruise. The crew is welcoming and informative without being intrusive. Their catamaran is a very pleasant way to see all the interesting sights around the Bay. Having jackets on board for guest use was an added plus. Would highly recommend this tour.
Had a great time! The Captain and his crew were very friendly, and gave anyone athat wanted to a chance to drive the sailboat at the end of the tour. We got close to Alcatraz and even saw some porpoises. There was jackets for anyone that needed the extra warmth and a bar inside. Highly recommend
