This was a great tour. We had fun and learned lots of interesting facts about China Town. Cynthia, our guide, was wonderful and very informative. Ended the tour with delicious fortune cookies. We would take this tour again.
My wife really wanted to do this one but i think i eneded up likeing it just as much well worth it very interesting and a nice stroll around china town. highly recommend
Loved it!!! Cynthia was a wonderful, knowledgeable guide. The tour was the perfect length and told some great stories about the history of Chinatown. We loved seeing the colorful buildings and alley ways. Would highly recommend.
Great tour...informative and fun...made the trip to Chinatown worth it.
Our guide Cynthia was very good, taking us through china town, the bits you could see from the street and the hidden allyways and DEADends.
Heard some good stories about the birth of chinatown and some people and spirits that have inhabited the place,a good walk, very entertaining.
If you are planning to eat then i suggest you eat before the walk, we found that a lot of the resturants were closed when we finished the walk.
A very good night out!
Our guide was very friendly, informative and funny. After having done a dozen weekend trips to SF, this tour gave it new life. Learned many things about Chinatown we never knew. Would definitely recommend to friends and even friends with pre-teens. Thank you to our great guide and viator.
I actually enjoyed this tour a lot more than I expected. Not only did I hear tales about those who had passed and may still haunt the area, but I got an education on Chinatown itself, the Chinese culture and feng shui, which I still don't fully understand but have more knowledge about it than I did.
Though it is San Francisco, I wasn't expecting as many steep inclines on the tour. So if you have mobility or health issues, keep this in mind. Don't get me wrong. The inclines are doable, but if you're asthmatic (like I am) or have joint pain, you will get a bit winded - so use caution.
I would highly recommend this tour to anyone looking for a fun evening out. (And Four Seas where the tour starts has pretty darn good food as well.)
This was the highlight to mine and my daughters trip, we had a lot of fun hearing about the history of Chinatown and the many ghost stories. We will definitely be taking this tour again.
Michael and I enjoyed your tour very much. We give you a 5 stars
Best decision I made. We had dinner at the Four Seas (meeting place) and immediately after dinner started our tour of Chinatown. It was informative and fun. Would recommend this tour to everyone.
This tour was a highlight of our trip. Cynthia was our guide and she brought the history to life . I would highly recommend this tour to everyone.
It was a fun and informative tour. We took our whole family and the 8 year old had as much fun as the 17 year old!
This was a really great tour and an excellent evening for my 12 year old son and myself. The history of Chinatown, the maze of darkened back alleys, and the firecrackers to ward off negative energy all added to the anecdotes of the tour guide. The tour ended with an unexpected magic show, which was an uneasy fit with the tour, but entertaining nonetheless.
This was a very fun tour with interesting information and views of Chinatown in a new way, after dark.
I thought this was a great tour of Chinatown after dark. We wandered through a ton of the interesting alleyways and the guide had great commentary on Chinatown history, Chinese superstitions and tales of ghosts in Chinatown. My favorite part was seeing and hearing people playing mah-jongg. The fortune cookie factory was also fantastic.
An experience into the other side of Chinatown, and our navigator made it all the more special as she had family connections, and certainly knows how to entertain, making it more real. The history she told us was exciting plus heartfelt stories made me look at the town with a different perspective. All in all it was very interesting, and moving experience. Well worth exploring.

A nice way to break the ice our first night in San Francisco. Our kids enjoyed it a lot. What we learned helped us to come back to Chinatown during our stay.
Our guide told fascinating stories; you don't need to believe in ghosts to enjoy this, it's a personal family history of Chinatown woven into the history of San Francisco plus movie gossip, fortune cookie making, and green tea. Everything was very enjoyable.
I would recommend this night tour to anyone. The guide was very knowledgeable and interesting. This tour gives you a taste of the past and present mixed together. I would do this tour again if I had a chance. I would also encourage teens to take this tour.
This was lots of fun! Our Hostess was VERY sweet, knowledgable, friendly and a marvelous story teller. Walking through all the back alleys and hearing the history and the stories about specific buildings was fun. The stories of 'unusual happenings' were so interesting! Chinatown came to life for our group of four. We live in the Bay Area - and we will be back again!
30 of us met at the Four Seas Restaurant at 7 PM and checked in. We were then broken into two groups and assigned an escort, who walked us around Chinatown's streets and alleys for 90 minutes describing historical facts and lore about the area. It was very interesting and provided us with a lot of historical information that made the rest of the trip more fun as well. The walking was up and down - it was San Francisco - and anyone walking with that stress will be challenged.
Take your camera and don't be shy about asking questions.
