I actually enjoyed this tour a lot more than I expected. Not only did I hear tales about those who had passed and may still haunt the area, but I got an education on Chinatown itself, the Chinese culture and feng shui, which I still don't fully understand but have more knowledge about it than I did.
Though it is San Francisco, I wasn't expecting as many steep inclines on the tour. So if you have mobility or health issues, keep this in mind. Don't get me wrong. The inclines are doable, but if you're asthmatic (like I am) or have joint pain, you will get a bit winded - so use caution.
I would highly recommend this tour to anyone looking for a fun evening out. (And Four Seas where the tour starts has pretty darn good food as well.)
This was the highlight to mine and my daughters trip, we had a lot of fun hearing about the history of Chinatown and the many ghost stories. We will definitely be taking this tour again.
Michael and I enjoyed your tour very much. We give you a 5 stars
Best decision I made. We had dinner at the Four Seas (meeting place) and immediately after dinner started our tour of Chinatown. It was informative and fun. Would recommend this tour to everyone.
This tour was a highlight of our trip. Cynthia was our guide and she brought the history to life . I would highly recommend this tour to everyone.
It was a fun and informative tour. We took our whole family and the 8 year old had as much fun as the 17 year old!
This was a really great tour and an excellent evening for my 12 year old son and myself. The history of Chinatown, the maze of darkened back alleys, and the firecrackers to ward off negative energy all added to the anecdotes of the tour guide. The tour ended with an unexpected magic show, which was an uneasy fit with the tour, but entertaining nonetheless.
This was a very fun tour with interesting information and views of Chinatown in a new way, after dark.
I thought this was a great tour of Chinatown after dark. We wandered through a ton of the interesting alleyways and the guide had great commentary on Chinatown history, Chinese superstitions and tales of ghosts in Chinatown. My favorite part was seeing and hearing people playing mah-jongg. The fortune cookie factory was also fantastic.
An experience into the other side of Chinatown, and our navigator made it all the more special as she had family connections, and certainly knows how to entertain, making it more real. The history she told us was exciting plus heartfelt stories made me look at the town with a different perspective. All in all it was very interesting, and moving experience. Well worth exploring.

A nice way to break the ice our first night in San Francisco. Our kids enjoyed it a lot. What we learned helped us to come back to Chinatown during our stay.
Our guide told fascinating stories; you don't need to believe in ghosts to enjoy this, it's a personal family history of Chinatown woven into the history of San Francisco plus movie gossip, fortune cookie making, and green tea. Everything was very enjoyable.
I would recommend this night tour to anyone. The guide was very knowledgeable and interesting. This tour gives you a taste of the past and present mixed together. I would do this tour again if I had a chance. I would also encourage teens to take this tour.
