Alcatraz Audio Walking Tour:
After your exhilarating San Francisco sightseeing tour, hop on the ferry and head out on San Francisco Bay to Alcatraz Island. Known as The Rock, this notorious former prison housed some of the world’s most famous thugs including Al Capone, George ‘Machine Gun’ Kelley and Robert ‘The Birdman’ Stroud.
When you arrive, you can take a free guided tour of the grounds. You'll then receive your audio headset for a fascinating 45-minute self-guided walking tour of the prison. Winding your way in and out of eerie prison cells and down spooky chambers, this award-winning audio tour provides an immersive experience of the prison, complete with sound effects and actual interviews of former guards and inmates.
There is no restriction on the amount of time you can spend on the island, so you can hop back on the ferry whenever you please to return to Fisherman's Wharf (departs every 30 minutes).
