Very disappointed with the hop on hop off part of this tour. The bus company was not very professional. First bus was over an hour late; no explanation or apology from staff at office--they weren't interested. Tour guide on bus wasn't too sure of her facts and got herself confused! I didn't bother with 2nd day of the bus. I always book my tours abroad through Viator because I trust your expertise, and to be fair this is the only tour that I have been disappointed with.

When I confirmed the reservation, I asked the person on the phone if we decided not to meet the bus and take the trolley down to the wharf, they said, "No problem, just check in there." The flyer said meet the bus at 0930. The bus stop was at 0900. We waited for the bus in the rain. Evidently we missed the bus, so I paid a cab to the wharf, pier 33. I checked in at the Alactraz tour ticket building with my online receipt, and they told me I needed a ticket. I called your number and you told me I needed to check in at the office for the tickets. After confirming twice with the people on the phone two days prior, nobody told me this. So I walked in the rain from pier 33 to the office while my family waited at the pier. Other than that, it was fine.

The tour people in the resort could have been more helpful. Got all the tickets mixed up and could not go to Alcatraz on the day it was booked for. Don't bother booking online, go down to the Pier 33, you will get tickets there.

Alcatraz is superb - an absolute must for San Francisco but I would book it separately. The city tour was poor. There are hardly any stops and you'd be better off getting a muni pass and seeing the city yourself. Our guide was informative and enthusiastic but I don't feel that this was a good way to see the city.

I loved Alcatraz but didn't use the hop on hop off. I was under the impression it wasn't a tour bus more of a city bus that stopped at different places. Would just get Alcatraz tickets next time.
