The trip was great and perfect to discover San Francisco at our pace. We did not have to worry about driving around and parking - just step in the bus and let someone do the drive! We got to see so much, busy China Town, restaurants and attractions at the Fisherman's Wharf and its well known local resident - a colony of sea lions living there permanently! We had some nice tea at the Japanese Garden in the Golden Gate Park, a nice relaxing stop. Of course, the highlight of the trip was Alcatraz, and the whole cruise and organization was great. There is so much to see on the Island and the audio-tour is very well made, you really feel you are back in time and could picture the gangsters in their cells. I didn't know families and kids lived there! A very informative tour! You can spend a good 3hour there so the 2-day ticket is definitely worth it to enjoy the other stops as well.

I had heart a lot about Alcatraz but I still learned a great deal during this tour - from the escapes and the stories behind some of these guys - just amazing. The audio-tour is very well made and allows you to discover the place at your pace and wonder how it was then. This was, together with the bus tour, was a great way to discover San Francisco and its top attractions without rushing. Definitely worth doing.

I live in the Bay Area and never got to see Alcatraz until my parents came to visit - well, I wished I had done it earlier! What a fantastic place, so rich in history and not just as the prison. You can discover the stories behind "The Rock" with the great audio tour and you can also explore the island which has great flowers and lots of birds. We had a great time in China Town and Fisherman's Wharf, and enjoyed tea at the Japanese Garden while the cherry trees were blossoming - how better can it be?

Excellent tour. The guide was very informative and friendly. Great tour to do on your first day to find your feet in San Francisco. Then you can use the bus on the second day to go back to the spots and explore them in more detail.

Wow, just cruising up on the island gave me chills. Being at Alcatraz really felt cool, knowing how many infamous criminals had been there. I used the audio tour, and to me it was better than having a regular guide, you could pause it and take it in. The boat ride out there is beautiful.

Alcatraz was amazing! The hop on hop off was very convenient. It allowed me to see all of the main San Fran sights without having to rent a car. Definitely worth the money!

I reserved this tour for my husband and two sons to enjoy while I was in a business meeting all day! They enjoyed themselves so much! My boys 8 and 6, really enjoyed the Biodome and Insectarium.

It was really good, except you have to pick your Alcatraz tickets up over at Fisherman's Wharf, not at Alcatraz, and the tour guide didn't know that. He told us to get off at Alcatraz Pier, and then we had quite a hike to get the tickets and get back to pier for our tour. Time was a little tight. The worst part about that is our bus had stopped for a 10 minute break right in front of the building where we picked up the Alcatraz tickets.

Most enjoyable. A good all-round trip and an easy way to orientate yourself in a strange city. The guide was knowledgeable, helpful and amusing. The office staff were also helpful and patiently answered all my questions.

The Hop-on Hop-off and Alcatraz Tour Highlights is the best way to see the many landmarks of San Francisco. The personal touch of having a live guide makes the trip enjoyable. Our guide was very knowledgeable and friendly ? providing information on the city highlights and local restaurant recommendations. I would suggest taking this tour Tuesday, Thursday or Friday, if possible to enjoy a full drive through the Golden Gate Park. During the weekend, the park drive is closed which allows the locals to enjoy all the park has to offer. This is the only Double Decker hop-on hop-off bus with an enclosed top, which allows for great viewing and protection against the wind and rain. The Double Decker bus drops you right off at Pier 33 and returns every hour, which allows plenty of time to spend on Alcatraz Island.
