It was wonderful from start to finish....well, everything but the weather that is:) That's San Francisco for you!
This tour was great fun and we learnt so much about San Francisco, I would suggest doing it early in your stay in San Fran so you can understand the city and places more. We had Patrick as our tour guide, he was really informative being a San Fran native, quite funny and fun in general and showed us many large, medium and small details about San Fran. Highly recommended and ask for Pat!
Very professional and informative driver. Comfortable bus, great sights, arrival and departure on time. Would recommend this driver and tour to all.
WOW!! What a great day!! Our tour guide was Safiya. She was AWESOME and we had a terrific day. Transportation was on time and comfortable. We enjoyed her knowledge of SF and she made it such a fun day. The only down side to this tour was the short time (45 min - 1 hour) we were permitted to spend in Sausalito. We informed our tour guide that more time should be allowed. Luckily, we had visited Sausalito the day before on our own and spent hours enjoying lunch, shopping and cocktails at The Trident over looking the water with a beautiful view of SF bay, Angel Island and Alcatraz.. The next day, we were walking around SF, saw Extranomical Tours, walked in and told them about the short time in Sausalito. They liked the feedback we gave them. Hopefully they will make changes for more time in Sausalito in the future.
This was the best day trip I had ever experienced. My family and I had so much fun. I have been recommending your website to all my friends the next time they are in San Francisco. The next time I take a trip I will defiantly book a trip through Viator.
The guide was professional, informative and had a sense of humour. Highly recommend
The bus tour took us to some areas that were out of the way such as Treasure island and the Pacific Shore at Land's End. The driver was very friendly and made the drive really enjoyable. He had just started doing the job and had problems answering some of the questions but I'm sure with time he will improve. That said he was an SF local and his anecdotes were very interesting. The trip over the bridge to Sausalito was good and the little town is very pretty with lots of options for lunch. The ferry trip back to SF was great, cruising right past Alcatraz. The star of the day was undoubtedly to trip to Alcatraz which is very atmospheric and interesting too.
Overall i liked the informality of the day and the fact that the bus part went where you wanted to go as well as taking in most major sights. I also liked the fact that in the afternoon you were left to sort out the travel and pace yourself. I can highly recommend this tour.
Overall the tour was a great way to see the city, included some highlights, the bridge, a boat ride and of course Alcatraz. Perfect way to get a nice taste of the city. While nothing to do with the tour itself, our driver was a terrible driver and rushed so it was hard to not let it ruin the driving part of the day.
Amazing trip, we liked it a lot, very well organized, great coach, nice van...
We had an amazing time over there, i do highly recommend it to every one as it’s a place which you can’t miss if you are in that side of the world, what an amazing experience we came out with after we finished the tour.
If you need to finish and see the whole SF in one day because you don’t have time like in our case you just need to take this tour.
But there was a bad arrangement in this tour as the tour guide gave us the Ferry money in order to use it so we can reach Alcatraz Island but we figured out that this tour has nothing to do with this nice place which you should visit as a nice experience for an historical place, so we had to go and buy tickets which was all Sold out!!!! so we got very upset as we had no much time or days left to see it again.
But thank GOD a guy sold us a black market ticket for Alcatraz with 50$ while its only 30$ but we had to buy them to not miss this experience so if you need to take this tour you need to purchase this place tickets in advanced so you can reach its boat time after you finish this tour or you can make it in another day.
Richard our tour guide was great, very knowledgable,he knew the areas and where to park the van, gave us plenty of photo shoots.the only complaint and I know this was not Richards fault ,the time booked for our Alcatraz tour Didnt leave us with enough time from when we were dropped at Sausilito and catch the ferry back to pier 1 when we were told it was pier 39.we literally had to run not to miss our tour to Alcratac,it was nearly a mile,no time to get lunch. It was a long day!Alcratac was awesome.
City tour was ok - the driver left the Palace of Fine Arts without all of the passengers being on board. Thank goodness one of the people (there were only 7 of us) on board asked if he knew that they were not in the van. He did go back and get them. We managed to see quite a bit of the city and he took us to some out of the way places. We drove the Golden Gate Bridge which left us in Sausalito. This is where the problems started. We had tickets to go on the 3:00 Alcatraz tour which meant we had to be back on the Wharf at Terminal 33 a half hour before the Ferry left. Leaving us off around noon in Sausalito did not synch up with the Ferry schedule. We would have had to get off of the van and just go to the Ferry without seeing Sausalito in order to get to the Alcatraz Terminal by 2:30 (they wanted us to be there a half hour ahead of time) There was a later Ferry which would have pushed the time limit. We decided to take the later Ferry and take our chances. What we did not realize was that the immediate Ferry took us to Terminal 39 which is comfortable walking distance to Terminal 33. The later Ferry dropped us off at Terminal 1 which requires additional transportation to get to Terminal 33. We only had a half hour to get there once we got off the Ferry and did try to briskly walk it but did not realized how far it actually was. Had we known we would have grabbed a cab. There is a trolley that runs up and down the Embarcadero but we did not see one and were afraid to waste time waiting. We found one of the bicycle guys and he took us to Terminal 33 after we had walked about 4 blocks and realized that we were not going to make the Alcatraz Ferry at our allotted time. If you take this tour be aware that leaving you in Susalito at noon is going to cause you some logistic problems based on the time of your Alcatraz tour. The tour company set the time for the Alcatraz tour - they should have taken the Ferry schedule into consideration or told us,
Wasn't very happy with this tour because the tour operator was not well organized. Pick up was half an hour late. Then it was a rush to catch up with time for the rest of the City Tour. We were then driven to the Pier to get our Alcatraz tickets only to find out that the tour operator picked them up but had not given it to the driver, Jesse. So, the driver had to return to the office with us to pick up the Alcatraz tickets. There were 7 tourists in our van. Another half hour wasted. Driver Jesse wasn't very sure of his way around the City, so some delays there. No photo opportunity at Golden Gate because we were running short of time and had much more to see in the City.. Just did a drive-by at some spots - no time. Bay Cruise was good but that was on our own. And Alcatraz too was good. My fellow tourists and I had to take a long walk to get from the Bay Cruise ferry drop off point to Alcatraz ferry Pier. The tour operator could have suggested we take the street car instead. It was first time for the four of us.
