Going with a small tour is definitely the way to go! I was expecting some van but the small van/bus was beautiful, leather seats, very nice ride. You get a lot of wine samples and get lots more time to wonder around the vineyards. Also, having the lunch included was nice so you didn't have to spend time trying to figure out what you wanted for lunch. We ate right away and then got to just enjoy some free time around Sonoma. It was fantastic!
Excellent tour !!! The vineyards visited were very informative and had lots to purchase. A great day out if you have the time.
if you like wine this is the best tour ever , 3 different winery all the wine your body can handle , no pressure at all for you to buy a bottle just drink , learn and relax , plus the lunch in a nice restaurant , in one word AMAZING ,
This was a wonderful tour to the Napa wineries. We had a ball at Jacuzzi and Cline Cellars at Sonoma and of course we loved Chandon at the Napa. Our ambassador for the day was very knowledgable and got the group talking and we all had a lot of fun. The small group we had made it easy to get to know each other and as we were from all different countries it was really interesting to swap stories. The only down side was the Italian restaurant we went for lunch at Sonoma. Most of us had ceaser salad as a starter which consisted of limp lettuce and a sweet dressing, there was nothing else in it. In Australia we add crispy bacon, a soft yolk boiled egg, plenty of shaved parmesan cheese, anchovies optional and croutons, maybe our expectations were too high. My husband scored well with the burger he ordered but I had a piece of salmon that was cut so thin and was so dried out it was like jerk. We were picked up and taken right back to the door of our hotel which made it very easy. I would really recommend the tour but not the restaurant - or at lease avoid the salmon!
GREAT Tour! Buddy was our driver and he was and EXCELLENT tour guide. I love the wines, the food, the people on the tour, everything. I would do it again and I will recommend it to everybody who is planning to go to San Francisco.
It was a lovely tour our guide was very good and made the tour even more enjoyable.
The lunch that was provided was very good as well.
This was not our first tour with your group and will not be the last.
Thanks for providing a lovely trip and memory on our 45th anniversary.
Our guide was great - very informative drive to wine country and quiet coming back so that he didn't mess up the buzz. Had such a great time that we ended up joining the wine clubs at 2 out 3 wineries!
Great intro into Sonoma and Napa. Hotel pickup was a plus as we didn't have a vehicle. Chandon tour was a highlight and Larsen Family and Cline wineries were also superb. Helped to have such a great group in our 10 person tour as well. Lunch was decent and guide insured we had time in town of Sonoma to enjoy some chocolate, olive, and cheese tastings as well. Definitely recommend this tour.
This was the highlight of our trip!! Cynthia was our tour guide and she made it very enjoyable!! We went to three wineries and had lunch. The lunch was great, and each winery was wonderful!! Do this trip, you won't regret it!!
A great day tour. The small group of up to 12 11 in our particular case was ideal. Two wineries in the morning with very different wines was an excellent way to compare and experience the product from the region. Lunch was very nice and not rushed. The last winery Domain Chandon included a wine tour and very generous tastings with no pressure to buy. A very generous discount on purchases was also offered by the winery. The tour vehicle was a very modern and well maintained mini bus with a very friendly and knowledgable tour guide/driver.
Total time from pick up to drop off about 8 hours. Highly recommended to anyone who likes wine and would like to know more about the Napa/Sonoma regions.
For our first wine tour it was a blast. There was not one time we didn't have a good time . I won't be surprised if I go again.
Very nice tour, well organized, knowledgeable driver and good van.
I wish it had been a little less expensive and longer, but overall, I was happy with the tour.
This was a blast! We wish we had more time in Napa, but were so glad we did the small group experience instead of a giant tourbus. Highly recommend!
after spending some time in San Francisco it was great to get out into the wine country of Sonoma and Napa valleys and enjoy the gorgeous views of the rolling landscapes.
our tour totalled 10 people and we all got on extremely well enjoying our wine tasting experience and a beautiful lunch together. Cynthia was our tour guide and driver and was very informative and funny and interacted well with everyone .This is a great tour to enjoy both the wines and good company on a great day out !
it was the first winery tour for me and my friend. our guide was a very nice German lady who knew the history and interesting facts about California wineries. Our group was an eclectic mix of people from different parts of the world taking a day off from business meetings. highly recommended!
was a funtastic tour everything perfect and our tour operator really nice.
l´ll recommend this tour especilly because is a small group.
The pick up time at the hotel was a little late. And it was raining cats and dogs. The small van was not "luxury" by any definition. After that things picked up considerably. Including the weather. The sun was shining by the time we got to our first destination.
Our driver/guide Peter was very knowledgeable about San Francisco and both Sonoma and Napa. The wineries we visited were excellent. And the tastings were neither rushed, nor limited. Wish there was more time to see more.
The drive out, over the Golden Gate contrasted well with the drive back, over the Bay Bridge. Twice the scenery for the same price.
Our group was quite small (8 people, a maximum of 13) and each person was a delight. On our tour the Wineries were set up for us (Cline and Viansa) and as the wine flowed we all got to know each other better. At Domaine Chandon we were joined by another group (7 lovely young woman out on a staggette) but the more the merrier.
Lunch in Sonoma was good for some, less so for others. More a function of what you ordered, and your personal tastes. My wife is still looking for the avocado that was supposed to be on her sandwich. She must have bit right past it.
I would heartily recommend this tour if you are in the area.
