Costa Rica’s Poas Volcano (altitude: 9,631 feet/2,935 meters) is one of the world's largest geysers, with a crater stretching over 4,900 feet (1.5 km). The volcano is active, but completely safe for observation.

The tour begins with a beautiful drive through the lush coffee plantations and flower farms of the San Jose area. In addition to the volcano, the Poas National Park is a 9,884-acre (3,950-hectare) reserve with rich tropical vegetation and animal life. The tour includes a hike through a surrounding forest that is teeming with the tropical plant life and exotic birds. The hike concludes at a restful, emerald-green tropical lagoon.

After your short hike, the tour continues with a wonderful drive through some of the largest coffee and sugar cane plantations of Costa Rica. Arriving first at Grecia, you will see the famous metal church, a spectacular sight with its rare and beautiful architecture.

Next, tour the fascinating crafts factories of Sarchi, where they build the famous oxcarts of Costa Rica. Splendidly decorated and in various sizes, these oxcarts are treasured for their unique beauty. You will not want to leave Costa Rica without one!

Passengers will be picked-up from their hotel between approximately 7:30am and 8:30am, depending on the hotel location. Exact pick-up time will be provided at time of booking.

Tour returns at approximately 4:00pm
