This tour was the highlight of our stay, but we probably would not have undertaken it if we had known how far it is to the glacier. Our guide was lovely and let us set our own pace - essential as we are both in our sixties and not very fit. Ultimately, we turned back just before we reached the glacier. Highly recommended but the glacier is more than 14 kilometres from the starting point!
Very well organized semi-private tour with an excellent guide. Had plenty of time to take pictures, learn abot the area. The guide was very detailed and ensured were safe onthe trail
This is NOT an easy hike. It is 16km, 8km up. One bottle of water is not enough. There is no shade at all. The rocks are unstable; even hiking sneakers strain the legs. My comments are made from the perspective of someone in very good shape.
The scenary is beautiful; more of an attraction than the destination (the glacier). The other hikers very friendly. The guide nice and flexible, but short on information.
One huge downside is that Viator requires the purchase of 2 adult tickets, even if only one is travelling. This makes no sense if they wish to capture the travelling on business market. Plus Viator subcontracts this out. Go direct. It's cheaper.
The weather was very hot at the time of our hike, thus, our review is affected by those conditions. The hike was NOT easy as advertised. It is long and at an intermediate level. I would recommend bringing a small backpack and filling it with water and snacks. However, I would do it again.
