What You Can Expect

La Parva Ski Resort Day Trip with Optional Ski or Snowboard Lesson

Chair lifts at La Parva Ski Resort

Depart from your Santiago hotel in a comfortable, air-conditioned minivan and relax during the scenic 25-mile (41-km) journey to the snowy slopes of La Parva. Hailed as one of Chile’s most picturesque ski resorts, the sublime scenery that surrounds La Parva is sure to impress.

On arrival, greet your expert guide and accept or decline the option of a comprehensive ski or snowboard lesson. If experienced, skip the lesson and head straight to the slopes to enjoy over 30 runs and 14 lifts on a diverse variety of terrains. If not, listen as your professional teacher takes you through the basics of snow sports, trying your hand at a mixture of maneuvers until you feel confident enough to go it alone.

Enjoy the gentle declines of the beginner slopes or, if you’re an experienced adventurer, soar and slalom from heights of up to 1,351 feet (412 meters) on a selection of advanced and intermediate runs. Refresh and refuel with a steaming coffee and light snack in one of the resort’s many restaurants (own expense) before relaxing during the return journey to Santiago.

It is a long way to get there but the ski centre was very nice. We were at the beginning of the season, during the week, so it was very quiet on a perfect sunny day. The ski rentals can be better.

1 star rating: I do not recommend this September 2015

I do not recommend this unless you've never skied before. They provide all gear and ski wear, but force you to take a lesson and then the lift ticket you are provided is not good for the entire mountain and is only good for the most basic trails. I also made contact on multiple occasions to confirm the pick up from Santiago and they only spoke spanish, so I had to get the hotel to make those calls.

Among all the Viator tours we've done over the years, this is the worst! We were picked up over 30 minutes late from our hotel. Our ski instructor only spent 10 to 15 minutes with us. From the moment we started, the ski instructor told us he didn't have much time so he showed us the basics and told us to practice on our own. Our tour guide also didn't set expectations - he left us with the ski instructor and didn't tell us what time he would come back to pick us up! Going with this tour operator is not worth it at all.
