Phil, our tour guide was friendly and knowledgeable. He arrived on time and was articulate. He answered any questions that we had. He was thorough in his knowledge of the history of Savannah and the architecture. We would take another tour again because of our excellent experience.
Our family enjoyed our tour. Phil was very informative. We would highly recommend the tour to others.
Wonderful tour. The guide was very knowledgeable. Took his time and answered all kinds of questions some not related to the civil war.
It turned out that I and my wife were the only two on the tour, but I think it made it more personal. We both really enjoyed the tour/guide. He was very intelligent about the history in svannah, and he was courteous. He stopped to speak in certain areas making sure there were benches available. He also gave us some restaurant reviews which the restaurants he recommended were great. He then ended the tour where we wanted to for our next excursion. The only complaint I have is that in the email confirming our tour it told us the square, but there was no description of the tour guide or contact information connecting to a person automated Other than that, the tour was amazing.
Great way to see the city and learn about its local and national history in a personal way. A must do!
Our guide Phil was excellency. Friendly, knowledgeable and very interesting.
It was great. Karen and I really enjoyed it. We loved the city of Savannah.
Very knowledgeable and personal tour guide. Enjoyed the experience and learned many facts about Savannah history.
We were disappointed when our Civil War Walking Tour was combined with the Historic Walking Tour because they were short a guide. The tour and information was redundant because we had taken the Historic Walking Tour the day before.
Thankfully, the wonderful tour guide Mike we had on the Historic Walking tour told us if we weren't happy with the combined tour he would meet us later and give us a personal Civil War Walking Tour.
He was most gracious in offering to do this for us. Especially, after he had just finished a very long Garden Tour. Mike went above and beyond the call of duty to accommodate us, his tour was fantastic.
Accolades to Mike for making this situation right!!
I would strongly suggest in the future that different tours not be combined; we spent 90 minutes taking the same tour twice when we could have spent our time more wisely.
Interesting tour though the starting point on our e ticket was not where the guide was waiting for us. Took 30 minutes to track her down.
The guide was extremley knowledgeable and as a result the tour was very informative, perhaps even a bit too detailed, especially for foreigners like us who are not totally familiar with all the different conflicts. We needed to pay close attention whether the guide was talking about the war against the Spanish or the Civil War.
Nevertheless I recommend booking a walking tour especially when the weather is great what is was when we walked the city.
Very little actual fighting took place in Savannah, however the tour guide was very knowledgeable about the local history before, during and after the civil war. A very worthwhile experience. Not for those who are looking to hear about a lot of battles in and around Savannah.
It was informative. We had a very nice guide. We were the only 2 on the tour, so it was very personal. Savannah is a wonderful city
