Excellent trip to an amazing place. Definately a must to see. You take the ferry across from pier 42 a small charge, which is a lovely trip as you get amazing views of Seattle. Half hour ride. The coach meets you at the entrance when you get off. A small party of 10 was on the trip. The ride takes you around the Island with stops on the way. A very interesting Island away from the hustle and bustle. You also stop at the Japenese war memorial. The lady who runs this lives on the Island so she is well versed in the history of the Island. A pleasant afternoon and we stayed to eat in one of the local restaurants which was fabulous. Highly recomended.
The tour guide and driver were wonderful and very informative. Bainbridge Island is a very quaint town and worth a visit. Views of Seattle were great.
Since we took this tour in the off-season, my partner and I turned out to be the only passengers on the mini-bus and we had a pleasant private tour. Our guide was very interesting and informative. Taking a walk on a log-strewn beach was a bit of a challenge for two oldsters, but we managed to scramble over them. What I remember most is our walk on a dock to peer down at the barnacle-clad pilings where large colorful sea stars were feeding. I had first seen these creatures on the bus video and didn't expect to see them so close to the shore.
The tour was nice, and the guides very friendly and knowledgeable, but very little time was reserved for shopping back on the main street of Bainbridge. We were kind of disappointed, if we had known that, we would have taken an earlier ferry and shopped before our tour.
