A well organised excellent tour! Well worth the early pick up time which is essential to get the best out of the day visit. The telephone re confirmation of the pick up time and place condition was a little frustrating but I understand why it is done. We had some trouble getting through on the Saturday morning for our Monday trip. However our hotel was fantastic and kept trying for us! Our guide on the mini bus (Carlos) was extremely kind, helpful and well organised. Although his English was at times difficult to understand he was obviously trying very hard and all credit to him! Everything went according to plan and he handed us over to the amazing Gustavo our guide for the Alhambra palace. He is an absolutely charming young man. His tour was both knowledgeable, interesting and witty. Just the right balance. The add on tour to the Albacian was certainly worth the view ( and gave us some stunning photos) but wasn't much of a tour ( we felt we hadn't paid for it as we had a discount) and had we known we may have been tempted just to skip it and pop into Granada. However time was limited so all in all a very memorable day.
This tour was excellent. It was an early start with a pick up time of 6.am as we were the first collected. Manual our driver was on time and introduced himself and was very pleasant. Silivia our guide helped collect the other guests and we were on our way. Silivia gave us time to have a rest until our breakfast stop at 8.30 for half an hour. There were toilets and a good cafe that offered a good selection of food and drinks to purchase.Back on the small comfortable bus, Silivia told us all about Spanish culture and general knowledge about the area and before we knew it we had reached our destination of the Alhambra. We all spoke English so luckily for us Silivia could tell us more than if she had to speak a few languages. In Alhambra our English speaking guide was Victor who made the visit really worthwhile As he only had to speak English, he had time and share the information in an interesting, charming and entertaining way walking at a nice pace so we did not get either tired or bored. The tour lasted over 3 hours and we meet up again with Silivia who put us in taxies and paid for us to travel up the hill to nearby Albaicin to join her on the guided walking tour. This tour with Silivia was really worth taking and the views of the Alhambra were amazing. We had an hour for lunch and rejoined the tour of the rest of Albaicin and scenic parts of Granada down to meet the bus. This part of the tour is all downhill so easy and enjoyable and took 45 minutes. On the way home Silivia continued to fill us in on some extra information and we had a rest until the stop again at the same cafe as we went to in the morning. The journey is 3 hours each way but we got back at 7 pm so we had time for a rest before dinner. Silivia is a very special person who is perfect as a guide for such a long day. She has amazing knowledge of her subject and shares it in an entertaining and happy way. Manual, Victor and Silivia made our trip to Granada a special day of happy, treasured memories.
This tour was a highlight of our visit to Spain. Sylvia was our tour guide on the bus ride to and from the Alhambra and also through the streets of Granada after the tour of the Alhambra. She was excellent, informational and yet very friendly and funny. Sylvia gave us so much information about Spain as we rode in the bus and we loved hearing everything she had to say.
Needless to say, the Alhambra was breathtaking and well worth the tour. The additional tour of the little streets of Granada was well worth the expense and we are so glad we took it. It was a perfect contrast to the grandeur of the Alhambra, seeing the tiny winding steers and alley ways of the old town. We are so glad we took this tour and would highly recommend it to everyone visiting Spain.
I wish that there was a suggestion for tipping of guides and the amount that should be tipped. Very few people on our tour tipped the guide at the Alhambra or Sylvia which surprised us. They work hard to make these tours magical for us and it seemed rude and selfish for those on the tour to not tip the people who worked so hard to make it a rich and enjoyable experience for us.
T he Alahambra was an awesome place to visit and the Guide we had there was excellent. I don't remember his name, but he was quite a historian. This trip was well worth the money.
We had a wonderful trip to Granada with Silvia...a most enjoyable tour guide. It was a long day but well worth the trip. We had a small group which was the best. The optional Albaicin walking tour allowed us to see the Alhambra from a different view point and the city of Granada as well..a must. Would have liked a little bit more time to shop would be my only comment.
Tour was well organized and staff was friendly and spoke English fluently
We woke up the morning of the trip watched weather report and it said sunny all day in Granada. Well what a surprise we get there rain the entire time .Not at all prepared because weather was suppose to be be beautiful. The Alhambra was stunning.Alicia and Gilberto were great.we skipped the Additional walking tour because of the rain Our guide was very knowledgeable
Granada is a must visit. The optional trip to Albaicin should be made compulsory...so much to see.
It was a fantastic tour. Our guide Silvia was very knowledgeable. The tour of the magnificent Alhambra Palace was wonderful. Its a must in Spain. I also too the optional Albaicin tour and it was worth it. Highly recommended!!
Kick off was at 06.15 at the Casa,as I was staying up the road at the Goya Hotel. Our guide met with me there and walked me to the bus.Breakfast was had en-route and we were in Grenada in no time at all c. ten o'clock. There we met our inimitable guide for the day,Gus who unbelievably had us in the Alhambra in the blink of an eye - all doors/gates/groups opened for Gus,there was no question. He was by turns engaging, startling, humorous, informative, knowledgeable, and moved at a pace that kept us all on our toes throughout the tour.He answered questions, ventured opinions and remained even-tempered and efficient throughout.A truly unforgettable experience - thank you Gus you made the day along with my fellow travellers - ad multos annos! Alhambra Palace was everything I'd dreamed of - breathtakingly beautiful. The visit was further enhanced by the most superb of guides, Gustav.
The 5stars are for this.
The optional walk afterwards was awful - a lot of work needed to bring that up to it's 12€ fee.
Pick up - such a pity that some people can't get themselves organised of a morning but drop off was fine. The lady guide on the bus was very capable and informative. She has my permission to report the male guide who joined us with his French tour - rude, ignorant oaf.
Wonderful day in Granada with a fantastic tour guide. Our tour guide picked us up timely at the Gran Melia Colon and drove us to the Alhambra where we spent all morning. The afternoon was spent at the Albaicin with our tour guide who was highly knowledgeable and attentive. Highly recommend this tour!!!
I think the tour was extremely well organised and both guides (Silvia and Viktor) were both thoroughly prepared and they gave us a lot of information both about Granada and the Alhambra. This they did with great passion and professionality. Their friendly manner and kind disposition helped to make our day a memorable one. However, I would like to suggest that instead of the walking tour there could be a short bus tour around Granada so that people can get a glimpse of the city because as the tour is organised we didn't see anything of the city. Pick up venue was very convenient for us and the bus was right on time. Well done. I would certainly recommend Viator!
