What You Can Expect

Seville Walking Tour and River Cruise

Discover the best landmarks of Seville with this walking tour and river cruise

Meet your guide in central Seville and set off on your 3-hour tour of Seville, walking through the historical center. As you explore the maze of twisting streets and bustling squares, your guide will bring the city’s history to life, explaining Seville’s former occupations and well-known citizens. The Roman Empire and Moorish occupation each influenced the city as its stands today, and you’ll see relics from both periods throughout your tour.

Pass the UNESCO-listed General Archive of the Indies, which houses archived documents of the Spanish Empire in the Americas, and then see the Church of El Salvador and the Golden Tower (Torre del Oro), two iconic city landmarks.

Walk to the Royal Tobacco Factory — the fictional workplace of the heroine in Bizet’s famous Carmen opera — and then hear tales of Christopher Columbus, who left from Seville when he set out to conquer the New World. Listen to stories about his life from your guide as you visit a boat yard where ships from his time were made.

After two hours of walking, hop aboard an eco-friendly electric boat to start your 1-hour cruise along the Guadalquivir River. Sit back and relax as your guide explains some of top Seville attractions as you pass alongside them on the cruise. Highlights include the Expo'92 area and the main attractions you will find in the way like Expo'92 area and the Castle of São Jorge. Your tour then finishes at the water’s edge in central Seville.

There was just the two of us on this tour. Louis, our guide, was very knowledgeable and answered all of our questions. We definitely got to see lots of interesting sights and places we hadn't considered going to if we hadn't been on the tour. It was definitely better than a bus tour as many of the tourist attractions are in the centre and it would be difficult to get there by bus. I had forgotten about the river cruise until we arrived that day. It was nice to sit down for an hour and see a few different sights but the main walking tour was definitely the better part of it.

We would highly recommend this Seville walking tour and river cruise. Our guide, David Cox (a lovely man with a good sense of humour and very easy to get along with) interested and enthralled us with facts and stories of this beautiful city, it's history and sights. We are now far more knowledgeable about Seville and The Americas than we were before this tour. Thank you David for a thoroughly interesting and enjoyable walk.
