Best of Shanghai Day Tour including Jade Buddha Temple and The Bund

Depart from your Shanghai hotel in a comfortable, air-conditioned minivan and head straight to Jade Buddha Temple, a sacred 19th-century structure built during the Qing Dynasty. Marvel at the majestic architecture of the temple and listen as your guide explains the captivating history of the construction.

Next, venture to the Fresh Water Pearl Gallery to see the process of pearl cultivation. If you’re lucky, you may be presented with a single pearl during your tour of the institution. Absorb the botanical beauty of People Square next, a verdant and vast green area in which locals socialize. Feed doves and pray for world peace in the consecrated enclaves then enrich your cultural knowledge of the city with a visit to the Shanghai Museum, a collection of exhibits that speaks eloquently of the country’s history.

After perusing 12,000 artifacts, revitalize with a fulfilling and flavorsome lunch then visit the Yuyuan Garden, a blissful stretch of springs and significant buildings. Continue onto Shanghai’s waterfront to see The Bund, a legendary landmark that symbolizes old and new Shanghai; hear of its rich heritage from your guide then venture to a silk factory to see how Chinese silk has been produced since the 14th century.

After purchasing special souvenirs from the silk factory, drive down the former French Concession District, a boulevard characterized by tree-flanked streets, then wander through the exuberance of Shanghai’s entertainment district, Xin Tian Di. After your tour comes to a conclusion, travel back to your hotel in a spacious vehicle with magical memories of your sightseeing experience.

Great tour, you are going to see lots of sights, in a very difficult city to visit on your own.

We did not know what to expect as we booked this the day before. Our group consisted of 3 visitors in the am and 4 in the afternoon. We had a guide who spoke very good English. His name was Fred. The guide was very knowledgeable and he did a great job of showing us around and getting a chance to experience the highlights of Shanghai. It was an excellent tour and we all had a great time. Very much worth the price. Of note one of the other guests states she now only uses Viator for her tours during her travels and has always had a great experience! I will definity use your service again!

My tour with our guide, Joy, was the perfect way to get acquainted with Shanghai! Saw the highlights, while never feeling rushed. I agree that the lunch wasn't great, but the city is, and Joy shared that with us. I was very fortunate in that the weather was gorgeous low smog with sun and there were only two of us on the tour. Definitely recommend!

Excellent whirlwind intro to Shanghai. Joy was an informative and delightful guide. The only downside was the lunch restaurant. To quote one of my travel companions, I would far rather have paid for my own lunch and enjoyed something much better to eat on the Bund.

Great tour. Joy was a fantastic guide. Gave us a little bit of everything. Only suggestion would be to change venue for lunch, even if have to pay out of pocket.
