Read what other Viator.com travelers think about the Big Bus Shanghai Hop-On Hop-Off Tour. What they loved, what they liked and what they think could be improved, it's all here to help you make the most of your next trip.
Easy to convert voucher to the ticket and no problem on buses. I forgot to confirm in advance as requested but they did not even mention it. Good way to view city and to move around Shanghai. Chinglish commentary amusing and informative. Stops can be a long way from the designated target i.e. Yu Gardens but no great issues. River trip great.
We booked a two day tour, but could only use 1.5 days of it unfortunately, due to travel plans. But what we saw was wonderful and the tour stops and locations were pretty well marked. We did miss getting off a couple of times as it didn't seem like the bus actually stopped and waited.
i luv hop-on hop-off when you don't know the city. You have your time to do whatever you want.
Awesome way to see this city! Shanghai is a very large city by area. The Hop-On Hop-Off Tour allows
you to use 3 lines to see large sections of the city. Using the 2 day package you are able to
see many attractions, without being rushed or getting tired in 1 day. The second day you are
able to visit attractions that you find appealing at your pace. We were able to visit our favorite
attraction twice in 1 day.
This is an excellent way to tour Shanghai. The buses stop locations are all very well located, the map provided is great, the audio tour is interesting and educational, the buses are clean and the staff are very helpful.
Some info that may prove helpful. It is best to print out a ticket. I used the digital ticket and started my tour at a main stop, but the digital ticket caused some confusion. It worked out in the end, after a supervisor call. Start your tour at a main stop, look for a terminal with a physical kiosk, the biggest one is in People's Square. Keep track of the free tickets that come with your Tour, they are very well selected. The map will tell you the last time a bus will go by a certain stop (usually between 5-7). There is another bus company that runs buses in the evening, so do not get confused. You are provided ear buds, but if you want you can use your own. Keep your map, it was the best tourist map, I found all week in Shanghai. Buses come by each stop in 15 or 30 minute intervals, depending on if the stop over laps with another line. There are three lines that intersect each other (Red, Blue and Green). Each line has great sights and all are worth experiencing. Exchange some money before you start the tour, the audio program will inform you of many events, museums, restaurants and cultural sights which charge.
This tour was a great value, and in my opinion the best way to get introduced to Shanghai. I meet a Melbourne couple who have used this service in a few other cities. They always take advantage when visiting a new city. After my experience in Shanghai, I will too.
Great price for the amount of sights, stops, convenience, and admission fees included. Everyone was very helpful and english speaking. You will appreciate this tour when you see the long ticket lines you just bypassed!

We wanted to explore Shanghai- had made a brief visit in the past. Felt that this tour gave us a really good insight into the city. Was excellent value with the added extras especially the River Night Cruise. Only criticism was the Bus Tour map available online was difficult to read regarding the stops.
Great value bus tour of a fascinating city rounded off with stunning evening boat trip.
Sure this would have been a great experience as we have used this mode of transport elsewhere in the world but unfortunately Shanghai decided to empty it's heavens continuously for our scheduled stay so missed out this time but other guests we met onboard couldn't rate it highly enough
It was excellent. We thoroughly enjoyed our choice to use the tour
It was a great way of getting around Shanghai and doing it in your own time. I would highly recommend
