This tour was totally awesome and was the highlight of my visit to Shanghai. Our guide, Joyce, spoke English very well and was a wealth of information about the culture and history of Shanghai. We had a wonderful time; be sure to come hungry as a ton of food is included! The pricing is extremely reasonable.

This was a really good tour - we explored the area near Jingan Temple. The first stop was for noodles and tofu in a vegetarian restaurant - delicious. Then a walk to a local food shop where our guide Mai pointed out local foods and on the way out of the shop we tried mooncake - my favourite - a hot light pastry enclosing minced pork which was delicious.
Next a walk to a local market to inspect fish and meats, and vegetables and fruit upstairs. Mai answered all our questions and explained what was special. Next stop for street food - the locals lined up at is stall selling deep fred tofu and sticky rice. Then a little further after picking up some green tea, a stop at a local restaurant for dumplings. All the food was terrific - we really enjoyed this tour and felt that we understood a little more about the food in Shanghai. Mai took great care of us. Highly recommended.

Our guide May was excellent. We tried lots of foods and visited many local markets. Got plenty of good exercise too. I would highly recommend this tour if you want to see how the locals shop and eat. A great experience!

Our time spent with Joyce, who was most pleasant and articulate, was very enjoyable. We especially appreciated the opportunity to visit shops and markets with a Chinese person, allowing us to linger and communicate with the merchants in a leisurely way, and without feeling awkward. We especially enjoyed the public market and the "all purpose" store. We did not find the last restaurant on the tour to be particularly interesting. My wife and I were very glad we signed up for the tour, and we have fond memories of it. Thanks!

Very interesting tour around parts of Shanghai I would not have visited on my own. It was great to learn about the different foods.

Great food, eat at two places and see a lot inbetween. Too bad the walking distances were very long. Not suitable when you're having problems with walking.
