What a wonderful tour ...Chris was knowledgeable and friendly and everyone got on really well which made our lunch and journey very pleasant. It was a long day but with every moment and was 1/2 the price of the same hotel tour. Thanks Chirs for a great experience.
What a great tour. So much packed into one day. Chris was a great guide. Thank you
This was a great trip. We had delightful weather roamed to streets, took a canal boat ride, ate at a lovely place and generally had a great time.
Zhouzhuang: The water village was GORGEOUS, cute and the gondola ride was really beautiful, peaceful and fun. Everyone on the trip wished we would have spent much more of our trip in this town instead of the other activities. Highlight of the day and probably some of the best pics from my entire trip to China. Again, wish we had had more time in this town and less time spent in Suzhou.
Suzhou: The Net Master's Garden was beautiful but smaller than I imagined. I think the best part was seeing the old furniture that has held up so beautifully and the lovely wall hangings. Nice place, a bit crowded. Having the guide was key, learned a lot. The silk factory was just like others that we had all visited, although I appreciated that this one I actually got to see people making the silk and the live silk worms. The lunch was also fine but nothing stood out.
All in all, a great trip that I highly recommend to see the beautiful water village and the Net Master's Garden.
Chris our guide was very friendly and easy going - the set out of the day was not hurried or overly packed but included a good amount of history, culture and site seeing. This is definitely a tour you should take to see chinese water villages.
The tour was very good, we highly recommend the water village day trip. Customer service was excellent as was the guide.
Our guide, Frank, was wonderful. There was record-breaking heat in Shanghai this summer and he did his utmost to keep us hydrated and out of the sun as much as possible!
Transport and driver were excellent. The Guide (Frank) was knowledgeable and very helpful. Shared lots of interesting information and was always willing to talk with passengers and answer questions. Particularly enjoyed the visit to Suzhou and the ride along the canals, pretty village and very relaxing. The Master of the Nets Garden was superb and very inspiring!
Excellent guide, fluent English, good driver. The content of the trip was amazing, particularly the visit to the Silk factory which we give a 10 out of 10 to. Lunch was great and the water village amazing. If you visit Shanghai do not miss this tour, best we have taken in years - great job Viator.
Mini van (very comfortable) with 4 other guests, two from Australia and two from Switzerland, who were so much fun we really enjoyed spending the day together.
Friendly and knowledgeable local guide, fellow passengers were very friendly as well. Great trip and scenery overall - definately recommended for anyone visiting Shanghai for the first time
Excellent tour. Excellent arrangements. Own private vehicle and excellent tour guide. Suzhou and its museum was wonderful and Zhouzhuang was like heaven. Excellent lunch. Highly recommended.
I thought this was a beautiful setting outside of Shanghai. It takes awhile to get there, due to the traffic. But, the tour and the lunch were terrific. We enjoyed every aspect of it.
The Suzhou and Zhouzhuang Day Trip from Shanghai provided an excellent opportunity to economically and efficiently explore some different parts of China. We chose this trip because we wanted to visit a silk factory, but the tour provided so much more of interest. The silk factory tour was most comprehensive. We also appreciated the fact that this trip transversed many different areas: cities, urban developments, rural countryside, canals, historic gardens and traditional houses. The guide was most informative and helpful. We were pleased with the flexibility that was available so that special interests could be accommodated. In summary, a most worth-while experience.
guide was knowledgeable, the city of Zhouzhuang was definitely the highlight of this tour-- highly recommended- the food provided for lunch was OK but not particularly great.... it was nice to get out of the big city, though
I could not have been happier. It was a small group, bordering on a private tour. The guide was not only knowledgable, but also caring in respect of the tour participants. I've used Viator a few times now, and never been dissapointed.
Amazing experience in the Zhouzhaung water village. Venice of the orient!
Great guide. This day-trip is amazing. You see the silk factory and a nice museum and the Zhouzhuang Water village is AMAZING. This is a really great espace from busy Shanghai.
The trip to the Water Village was a highlight of our trip to China. Something everyone should due. Transportation by van was smooth considering traffic. The tour guide was well informed.
Our visit to the silk factory and lunch was interesting even as we had seen another silk factory tour during our travels. A full day tour that wenr by quickly.
My tour guide had exceptional knowledge of both areas. I was very fortunate to have received a private tour - I felt like a queen for the day! The driver was polite and courteous. The food was fine, pretty much what I expected from these types of tours. Without a doubt it would be great, if time allowed, to spend a full day per place as there appeared to be a lot to explore. Both areas are beautiful and well worth a visit!
If you are in Shanghai and want something to do outside the city, l strongly recommend this tour. The boat ride at the water village was definitely my favourite part of the tour. It is quite an amazing town. Not quite the same experience as a gondola ride in Venice but can definitely see why it's called the Venice of the East and definitely a must visit. The tour could be improved by allowing even just 1hr free time to wonder around the water village on our own so we could have explored some of the shops or to just sit down for a nice drink in one of the cafes along the canals and enjoyed the experience. The highlight of my Shanghai experience.
