Such a fun afternoon excursion in a van with Andrea the tour guide, a gentleman from Siena who was friendly and very interested in sharing with us the charms of his home and the beautiful countryside . At first, we stopped for a stroll in a nearby small village within medieval castle walls. Then, we drove on to San Gimignano, a formerly strategic hilly stronghold made famous by the building of brick and stone towers. Both seemed to be places time forgot Our final stopped involved snacks and wine hosted by amiable wine sellers who treated us marvelously. With Andrea's expert driving, we were safely and quite happily returned to Siena! Thanks to all responsible for a terrific tour!
Fabulous day out from Siena! Our guide was personable, knowledgable and very friendly. We had a group of 6, 4 Anglophones and 2 Italians. Both languages were handled perfectly by the guide. Wine tasting included olive oil and balsamic vinegar tasting and pecorino cheese. We spent about an hour with the charming wine maker in Castellini in Chianti before proceeding to San Gimingnano.
A great day with our guide. This was my second visit to San Gimignano, but the first with a local guide to show us inside the city walls...was great. Amazing stories, lots of history. And the trip to the Chianti winery...just great. Lots of tasting options...be sure to bring a few euro with you to buy some wine at the store front. You won't be disappointed.
This tour exceeded our expectations--and THEN some! Our tour guide Gi-Gi was splendidly fun and full of knowledge. I feel like a Chianti expert now. The wine tasting was great and the winery was beautiful. He took us to an ancient Etruscan burial structure as well which was a really cool bonus. Gi Gi took us to many different scenic spots for photos along the way and explained all kinds of things about the area, history, legends, how the wine is classified, grown, etc. In San Gimignano, he told us about the history of the town and its strategic importance during the Renaissance, the local important foods and customs, etc. He recommended the gelateria that is supposed to be the best in all of Italy and it was GREAT. At the end of the tour Gi Gi even dropped us off at our hotels!
We were going to take a wine class inside the city of Siena and I am SO GLAD we did this instead.
I highly recommend this tour. I cannot imagine how they can do it for the price charged, but it was one of our best days in Italy.
This tour was great, awesome value for money and you fit a lot into the time and it doesn't seen rushed! The wine tasting was the highlight - the staff there were so passionate and was worth ever last drop!
Was a great time - our tour guide (Georgio?) was entertaining and personable and committed to showing us a really great time. The people on the tour were really nice and bonded during the wine tasting which was a lot of fun. The tour guide from San Gemignano was also good and countryside beautiful!

Great half-day excursion to Chianti and San Gimignano. Wine tasting was a highlight of the trip. Guide and good friend Simone stopped numerous times to let our group take photos of the awesome views of the Tuscan region.
Would def recommend this trip, was great fun.
Cheers Guys!!! :D
Nice way to spend the day! and The winery was very generous with the samples :) yum!
Very enjoyable trip with a great Guides (Lavinia and Laura). Everything ran very smoothly from the initial meeting through to our final drop-off. Castellina was lovely, the wine tasting was great fun (very relaxed, with lots of chat), then finally beautiful San Gimignano (with our guide Laura). It would have been nice to spend a bit longer in San Gimignano, but overall it was a perfect trip. Very good value for money and highly recommended.
It was a great tour. The guide let us wander about and explore.
The wine tasting was good fun. It did seem a little rushed but we had been delayed by a couple of people late to the bus.
The tour to St Gimiano was really good but we were quite drunk by then so it was hard to concentrate.
