Loved this tour, my husband and myself were the only two on this day, so a private tour! Marcia was lovely and very knowledgable, and described the history in a interesting way, that bought the area really into perspective. The food samples were lovely and the coffee was very different, but nice. Highly recommend this tour.
FANTASTIC. My friend and I were the only two on the tour when we went, so it was like our personal guide to Amsterdam. The guide was excellent. She blended in the history, culture and the food and, as time was not an issue, took us to a supermarket and went over some of the food choices there. Had "real" samples of food- fries with mayo, herring, syrup waffles, cheese and croket. Would recommend it to anyone
Even though only two people were booked on the tour it still went head. The guide was very interesting and provided a good insight into the Chinatown area.
Was an excellent tour, very interesting and informative, got to try lots of tasty morsels, guide was great and was very good value for money.
very informative, art, herbal medicines, sweets were all great
This was one of the best tours I have been on. We had a single guide for my wife and I. He was very informative and used his experience to cater to our needs. The wet market is fascinating and we enjoyed talking to Anthony Leow the "Spicemaker". Highly recommended
If you get a chance to do this tour, take it. My son and I were the only people on this tour so we got a very personal tour. We discovered the food and history of China Town, This was so interesting and very well presented by our tour guide. We had a taste of different breakfast foods eaten by the local Chinese community. These were so tasty. Our guide introduced us to a few of his friends along the tour, so we really had a very personal touch to our tour. As there was only the 2 of us on this tour, we were able to spend a little longer talking to the locals with our tour guide. Our guide showed us so much history from Chinatown it was fantastic. This was a short tour of an hour and a half or so but we learnt so much.
The Chinese lady who was our tour guide gave us a great insight on Chinatown, its history and how it came to be the way it is today which made it so much more than just a food tour as we got to learn about Chinatown as well, and you get a chance to meet and greet with all the other people on the tour as well. We went for a breakfast tour in the morning and had some things I've never tried before but which were quite nice - just be prepared to experiment with food, and be prepared that the markets don't always smell like roses! :)
we both enjoyed the history of the tour but we did not enjoy the food so much
felt that would have enjoyed more if we had food that was being eaten now
in china town and not in the past but enjoyed the mango ice very much
The tour was very informative, we learned a lot about the history of the Chinese immigrants and the guide was excellent. Really enjoyed the food tastings and walking through the wet market and the streets of Chinatown. The tour started 15 minute late, but I would still recommend this tour to anyone.
Our guide was friendly, very informative, a fantastic source of knowledge on chinese medicine. We enjoyed the walk very much.
Nobody collected us at the hotel or contacted us despite having our contact details so we didn't have a great tour at all. Hope we don't get charged!
