This excursion was very scenic and informative. Mike, the guide, gave us a lot of history of Skagway, the Yukon Territory, and all the places we visited. Have your camera ready to take some of the most breathtaking photos you'll ever see!
This was a great experience and one of the best excursions we have taken. Our guide, Tyler, was outstanding. He was so informative and knowledgeable. He has a wonderful personality for this job and made everyone feel welcome. He stopped often and took pictures of couples and groups together. The area was very interesting but Tyler made it better.
This is a great tour and our guide/driver was outstanding, since she had done the Iditarod this year. We made multiple stops along the way, which is not possible with the train trip. Also, we went further into the Yukon than the train. The dog camp and lunch were good.
Our tour guide, John, picked us up at the cruise terminal and gave a informative and cheerful naration along the way. There was plenty of time for photo stops along the way and a meal at the half way mark.
This was a less costly tour than was available from our cruise line and the small bus allowed everyone the chance to get out to take 'open air' shots. Our highlight was Emerald Lake.
Our tour was amazing! We were on a motor coach and our tour guide, T-bone aka Tyler, was the best! He really made this tour enjoyable. I was a little concerned about the length of this tour but T-bone made it interesting and we stopped at frequent intervals that kept us from getting bored. And he got us back into Skagway in plenty of time to visit the town and get back to the boat. T-bone managed to get us to every awe inspiring spot before the big buses dumped their load of tourists so we weren't competing for picture spots. And he also took pictures of each family at each spot so we have great family pictures, without having to miss a single family member. I can't thank T-bone enough for this amazing excursion.
The trip was superb, and was all the more enjoyable with the interesting tales provided by our guide Heidi
Hands down, our favorite excursion from our entire 10 day adventure! Holding the 11 day old sled doggie pups was a total treat! Heidi was our guide and she just might be the most interesting woman in the world! Her life in Alaska fascinated us-- she shared lots of her story about growing up and raising a family in AK-most recently was her experience completing the iditarod! Anyhow-- she made lots of stops along the way to Carcross, took lots of pictures, we got to fill up our water bottles from a cliff's waterfall with the best tasting water and see some scenery/sites that i couldn't have imagined. It was a total treat!
I highly recommended it because our tour guide Mike was informative, witty and engaging with the group. He gave us many opportunities to take photos. The lunch was okay, but the staff at the restaurant were very friendly and helpful. The local ice cream store was a hit. The exhibits at the Museum of Yukon Natural History gave a good slice of the area, past and present. Saw the puppies at the dog sledding compound.
We returned on-time to board our ship.
From start to finish our tour was fantastic. Our tour guide Mike was a local man and knew everything there was to know about everywhere we went. He was brilliant. I would highly recommend this trip to anyone interested in nature wide life and magnificent scenery.
Tour was both scenic and informational ! Our guide ,Mike, was great! Funny but not overbearing with corny jokes! We'll worth the cost but beware the lunch is bare bones dog sled settlement fare------you can supplement at the very good ice cream shop!
This excursion was very exciting...taking in the beautiful scenery through Alaska and into the Yukon was fantastic...scenery was just overwhelming...was lucky enough to view a few lakes so still they mirrored the surrounding mountains..Carcross was an experience in itself...even got to hold newborn sled dogs...would highly recommend this excursion to everyone...
Beautiful day and an excellent driver/guide John. Enjoyed all the stops, the lunch at Carcross, and being in Canada.
Great tour guide and perfect weather. Highlight of the tour was the sled dog camp. Scenery was impressive and our guide made many stops for photos.
We had an amazing tour with Tyler The Geistrider!
Excellent weather. Great nature. Nice Photo spots. Cute Puppies. Interesting information about mushing. A bear right next to our bus. Excellent service by our tour guide Tyler, who made a great job as an entertainer and photographer.
This is by far our best tour experience in our 2 months tour of US/Canada. It was a day long tour lasting 6 hours. It was made highly enjoyable by our our incredible tour guide cum driver Tyler who entertained us with humour and knowledge of the Yukon region. The tour took us through several climatic zones with dramatic landscapes. Tyler has been extremely patient and considerate to those who are motion impaired. He also stops at every photo opportunity spots and volunteered to be a camera man for all. Fantastic landscape photo opportunities for the camera buffs. The tour is truly value for money as it goes beyond US/Canada border crossing and travel further than by rail. We could not recommend Tyler as your tour guide highly enough.
Amazing trip.food sucks but trip was well worth it. Must do. And cheap for what you get.
The scenery was breathtaking and the guide was amazing
Nice experience made much more special by driver John! Ask for him when
taking the Skagway shore excursion.
The tour was really good, the tour guide was great he did the six hour tour pleasant one, we enjoyed a lot as it was a small group and we made a few stops for a beautiful pics. The coach vas very comfortable as well, my favorite part was feeding and petting the goats and huskies.
The whole day was an amazing experience from start to finish. We were swiftly picked up and taken to lots of different viewing spots on route through the Yukon. The tour drivers are very witty and knowledgable. Well worth it for the views
