Your Amalfi Coast day trip leaves central Sorrento in the morning. Aboard a comfortable coach, relax on the scenic 35-minute drive to Positano, your first stop.
On arrival, enjoy an hour of free time to explore this lovely hillside town, whose colorful buildings cascade down to the sea. Browse shops, walk along the beach or visit the Church of Santa Maria Assunta. You’ll see why the famous American author John Steinbeck, who visited Positano in 1953, wrote: “Positano bites deep. It is a dream place that isn’t quite real when you are there and becomes beckoningly real after you have gone.”
Continue traveling along the coast through the town of Amalfi and up to Pontone, where you’ll stop for a light lunch with a glass of local wine. See below for a sample menu.
Next stop is the nearby town of Ravello. During your hour of free time here, visit the beautiful Duomo di Ravello, perhaps wander the gardens of Villa Rufolo or walk along the so-called 'terrace of the infinite' at Villa Cimbrone. Any entrance fees are at your own expense. It’s no wonder this UNESCO World Heritage-listed town is so popular among tourists: its location looking down on the Amalfi Coast is simply stunning.
After exploring Ravello, return along the coast to Sorrento, and finish your tour at the start point in the early evening.
