Read what other Viator.com travelers think about the Half-Day Chengdu Panda Breeding Center Tour with Optional Baby Panda Holding. What they loved, what they liked and what they think could be improved, it's all here to help you make the most of your next trip.
I had a great time on the tour. Somehow it was just me on the tour. The guide took her time to show me around and had good knowledge of the Pandas. Would recommend the tour. I decided to not do the sitting next to the baby panda thing :(
I had an absolutely wonderful time on this tour despite not opting for the optional baby panda part. Although pick up is early in the morning, it's necessary if you want to beat traffic which might not be pleasant since it takes a half hour to get there anyway. Also, getting there early means you can actually see the pandas, because they are eating breakfast and not too many people are there, meaning you get a solo picture with them. Our tour guide was very sweet and knowledgeable, and she answered all of my "creative" questions... If we hadn't gone with the guide, our time at the Center probably wouldn't have been very efficient, and we would have walked all over the place getting lost and confused. Also, we wouldn't have known about the free documentary showing in the cafe or that there was an informational museum toward the front. I thought the price for this tour was just right, and it was definitely worth it!
I was a bit sceptical at first as the wording on the webpage is not clear but I have to say WOW!!!! What a trip, our guide was exceptional and we were very lucky that the centre closed at 12 with people at breakneck pace to get out. Not us -we stayed and had the pleasure of watching 3 very silly 1 year old panda's playing for over an hour. My only criticism relates to the photo opportunity with the Panda, it was a bit chaotic and we felt rushed to take our pictures - just a little bit more time would have been wonderful but to be honest I could have sat there all day. Fab trip Many Thanks to our guide Coral especially for introducing us to "Country Wine"!
Awesome! Our guide was very knowledgeable and spoke English well. So glad we didn't go it alone.
Very happy with the trip, no complaints at all. The travel agency was very accommodating with a split hotel pick up and our guide Green helped us make the most of the 2 hours we had. The Pandas, of course, were as cute as you thought they'd be... but what was also fascinating was the story about their evolution, behaviors and life cycle.
Chengdu doesnt have many English speakers. This tour made it very easy since everyone involved spoke English. A big 'like' - I'd recommend this to any visitor to Chengdu.
Try to visit in winter and get there early - coz the Pandas like it cool. We saw almost all the pandas active - or as active as a panda gets - outdoors. If you have very limited time, spend it around the young cubs' enclosure - they're much likelier to treat you to a playful panda fight-roll-chase-climb sequence.
Our party of 6 comprised both English speaking and Chinese speaking people and our guide dealt with both admirably. Her knowledge of the site was comprehensive and entertaining. We were picked up at our hotel in a private van and when we expected to be driven to a central site for transfer to a larger bus we were very pleasantly surprised to find out that we were the entire group.
We were fortunate to get there in time to see many pandas eating and playing and all had an excellent experience.
Viator was very communicative prior to the tour ensuring that we would not forget the appointment.
Mary the guide and her driver were really great! And as for the pandas... awesome and so cute! Thanks for a fantastic experience on my first visit to Chengdu (and indeed PRC) - I'll be back!
Our tour guide Green was wonderful and did everything to make our trip to the research center the best! Including the opportunity to sit next to a real panda! Amazing!
This was an excellent tour. Our guide Renee was very knowledgable and gave us lots of facts about the pandas. It was a great experience and thoroughly recommend it.
Fantastic tour. Our guide Andy was great. We highly recommend this tour.
Excellent tour. Our guide went above and beyond to help us. It was brilliant!
We were very lucky that there was only 2 of us on this trip and Coral our guide was fantastic very friendly, knowledgeable and enthusiastic. I would recommend it
Lydia was knowledgeable and Mr Jo was a good driver. We had concerns about gping close to the earthquake area but saw little evidence other than some broken roof tiles. The panda kindergarten was a highlight of our trip to China, along with seeing more if the countryside. Highly recommend!
One of the best places we have ever been. Even before you see the Pandas the grounds of this place are amazing. Immaculate gardens everywhere. The Pandas are something to be seen to be believed, they are incredible. Our wonderful guide Coral walked everywhere with us and then gave us time to look on our own if we wanted to. She showed us everything there was to see and made sure we got there early as the Pandas are taken inside around 10am as it is too hot for them. We were the only two on this tour and so glad we had Coral as our guide and of course Jerry our driver delivered us safely back to our hotel. Wonderful, wonderful tour.
