Why Our Insiders Chose This Tour
This is a lovely way to see the wild side of Split. The landscape is beautiful and, if you’re lucky, you’ll often see wild animals along the trails. Remember to bring snacks, water and your bathing suit!
What You Can Expect
Start your ascent at the foot of the mountain via a zigzagging trail that winds its way through a coniferous forest. Don't forget to look around: in addition to the increasingly panoramic views, there may also be some wild animal sightings all the way, too. Also, stop along the way so your guide can show some points of interest and tell you about the history of Marjan Hill and the surrounding area.
The actual hiking from bottom to top takes 1.5 hours. The route is not too strenuous and there are ample amounts of breaks along the way. Enjoy the spectacular views and indulge in the tranquil nature that exists just outside of the center of Split. Once at the peak of the hill, take about 20 minutes to drink it all in before descending the mountain, taking a different trail from the one you came up on.
The trail down leads to Bene Beach – a peaceful pebble beach lapped by gentle waves – and you’ll enjoy some free time on it to wind down and relax. Take a dip in the crystalline waters, find a shady spot under a tree, or soak up the sun!
At the pre-arranged time, meet your guide and walk back to central Split, where your tour finishes.
