Beautiful cove! Guide was helpful and provided alot of education about the beautiful fish we saw. We even saw a sea turtle! Enjoyed hanging out on the small uncrowded beach after our snorkel.
My Gf and I had a great time. Was a little scary being the only ones from the cruise ship to do this tour bad had an amazing experience! Worth every cent!
We were met by a very professional tour representative who explained exactly what we would be doing. Then we were taken (approximately 5-10 minutes) to Pelican Cove in a van. The tour guide asked us if we knew how to snorkel and made sure we were all comfortable with the equipment - which was newer and worked very well. The downside of this tour is the location - the water appeared to be stagnet and somewhat dirty - we saw very few fish. This is not what we are used to when snorkeling in the Caribbean. The location needs to be changed.
We had an excellent guide. We expected to see more fish. The guide was very good about diving down and brining up things we would otherwise have missed. Very accommodating and easy to understand. The transport was excellent and on time. I expected a more expansive sand beach but was very glad it was a beach entry area rather than having to jump off a pier or dock or boat. We would recommend this to others as the price was reasonable and the meeting at the pier was excellent. Keep that snorkeling guide he is great!
Nice excursion but I feel it was a bit overpriced as it was very close to the cruise port, we snorkeled from the shore for about an hour and then we were done. Our guide was very nice and we met some nice local people where we snorkeled from.
Snorkel guide was engaging and skilled for this tour. Because this tour was done in Feb, the water temp was not ideal, 77 and it was windy on the morning of the tour. Still enjoyed the snorkel and was surprised at all the coral.
This was not a reef, but an area where fish hang out. The visibility was bad that day. The water was rough. Hard to get in and out of. We met a family that SNUBA in the same area and said they saw a great variety. We saw fish, but not colorful fish. Apparently "Shipwreck beach" is a much better place to snorkel. The staff was nice. The contact person at the pier was professionally dressed and informative. The taxi service was slow..but we were on "island time". We were done in the water in 30 min or less. We were the only people in our group which was nice.
We had anticipated a terrific snorkel experience and the "guide" Nicholas said we may see
lobster, turtles, rays, many fish. Well, we saw a lot of dead coral, a few fish close to shore,
one lionfish, a couple of conch shells way below us. Nicholas swam way ahead and didn't
seem concerned with the group lagging beyond and not such strong swimmers. When we got
back we took a quick/outdoor shower, we had a single rum punch and no one wanted to stay on
the "beach" which was not very inviting (seemed like dirt rather than sand)so we were driven back
to town. All in all, a rather forgettable excursion. I had read St. Kitts was not known for snorkeling
but this was written up online by Viator as something exceptional. I would not recommend it. Sorry.
We waited an hour for other party to arrive before starting to snorkel, then time I think time was cut short since the other party was also kayaking afterwards. The location was ok but not clear water or as many fish as expected.
