This was a great overview of the island; we got to spend time at 3 amazing beaches and learned so much history of the island. Our tour guide was fantastic. It made me want to come back and spend more time in St Maarten/St Martin!!

It was a wonderful day, our guide/driver Bert was informative and well organized giving us a complete tour and swim time at several stops to experience the Atlantic and Caribbean sea. The stocked cooler of rum punch, water and coke was perfect. My grandchildren were with me 9 and 7 had a great time and also enjoyed all the information about the island. It was well paced and a real value for the money. We saw the french and dutch side of the island experiencing both cultures.

Friendly, informative driver. On time and saw everything on itinerary - a good trip. Time for shops/beach and sights plus the amazing airport beach. Much better than excursion offered by cruise ship.

Bert's Tours does a great job. We had Will for a guide, and he was a lot of fun and very knowledgeable.

St Maarten is a wonderful place (don't just stay around Philipsburg, although the shopping there is quite good - especially for jewelry) - get out and about and see both the Dutch and the French side of the island. This tour was amazing - it was booked in advance in the UK and was definitely value for money - cold drinks were also provided throughout the tour. The driver was amazing and took us to wonderful places - Grande Case Bay where we had time to go on the beach, Nature Reserve, Viewing Points, Marigot where we went to a market and then to the famous airport where we went on the beach, which is an experience we won't forget. On our recent Caribbean cruise we stopped off at 9 different islands, St Maarten was our favourite. We did an island tour on all 9 islands, but this one we rated as very good and great value. The driver was waiting for us at the information desk when we got of the cruiser in St Maarten and returned us back. This company also give a guarantee that if the tour isn't back in time for the ship's departure, they will ensure you are taken to the next port of call. Another great thing about this tour was that there was only 6 of us in the air-conditioner van, so there was lots of room for us to spread out. When we called at other islands we found we were kept waiting as the drivers touted around for other clients to fill their taxi, but not on this one, it was booked for 10am and we left on time. I would definitely use Viator again - very professional.

We had a great tour of both sides of the Island, loved hearing the history, seeing the amazing beaches, the differences in cultures, the food, shopping and laid back attitude of the locals. Especially appreciated the artisan shopping there which was no pressure and we could look at the items without the hard sell. we bought more there than any other place we visited on our visit to the Caribbean. Burt was a great guide, had a real pride and sense of reality of his environment and made us really happy we chose this tour. Thank you! Katie and Tony, Puyallup, Wa - USA

Our driver was David. He was very professional, nice and informative. On the tour bus there was water, soda and beer. I didn't know that people from other cruises would be on the same bus as us. they also were quite older than we are. My husband and I are in our mid 50's. We had to wait about 15 minutes for some people to arrive and get on the bus. We went to the beach near the airport. That was fun being able to see the planes coming in for landing. The beach was very crowded and I only wet me feet. When we returned to the bus David said he had spoken to his boss and was granted permission to take us to a different beach that was less crowded. Well the other people didn't want to go to the beach! I was annoyed to say the very least but since we were outnumbered I just let it be. They didn't even want him to drive by the beach! He was as accomodating as he could be. they just wanted to return to the port. I would have preferred to say out and about for awhile longer. Overall the island is beautiful and the island people very friendly. Unfortunately you can't choose who else will be on the bus with you so the majority rules. That was the only downside for me.
