Only 4 of us in the group. Fantastic palace, very few visitors. We were in the amber room on our own. Made going in February seem a good decision. Great guide, Catherine.
Our fabulous guide, Lida was very knowledgeable, clear and generous in being happy to respond to further questions as we went along. The whole tour was very time efficient, well organised and a great pleasure. Thank you.
This was an excellent tour. Our arrangements were clear, the driver and guide arrived on time, nothing was too much trouble for them and we gained an immense amount of historical knowledge. The Catherine Palace is particularly beautiful, as are the grounds, and we were very happy that we had opted for the tour of Pushkin.
Great day with our tour guide Dasha.
Everything went as expected.
The tour was very professionally very well organised and we are happy we did it. Our tour guide, Lisa, was dot on time and gave us all the details. The Palace was beautiful especially the Ballroom and the Amber Room. Would recommend to all visiting St Petersburg.
Was excellent. Guide Dasha was very good. Helped us bypass long lines. Was very good. Price was excellent, too.
The Palace was stunning, however, the traffic no so much. Our scheduled tour was moved from a Friday morning to the Thursday evening, due to a scheduling issue with the Summer Palace being closed on the Friday. Unfortunately we got stuck in horrible traffic and it took us 1 1/2 hrs to drive 24 kms, that was the only negative part and not something the guide could control.
The tour itself and the guide were amazing. Our guide, was Marguerite and she is a school teacher during the school year. She was very knowledgeable of the history of the palace and was able to get us to view two newly renovated rooms that were breathtaking. (Apparently these rooms are only on view at present to VIP's. )
The tour of the summer palace was well done and it was incredible to see how much has been rebuilt since it was badly damaged by bombing during WWII. It was interesting to see the photos taken after the bombing and to see how much has been reconstructed.
As we were a small group - only four in the tour, we had unlimited time to stand and be awed by the Amber Room, words don't do it justice.
It was well worth the the time it took to get there.
An intelligent and articulate guide added to the enjoyment of this tour. A popular and rather crowded venue, but well worth the time spent - and having perfect weather enhanced the enjoyment.
The guide we had was wonderful. She really knew her history and shoed us a great day. I would highly recommend this tour.
The guide was perfctly in time to pick us up from our hotel. Her English was also excellent and she was like a walking information centre. She was also very friendly.
The tour guide was excellent here. She had a lot of knowledge and was able to tell us about the history of the Catherine and had answers for all of the questions. The place is unbelievable, a must to see!
Excellent Tour. The guide was very knowledgable and the tour group was small in number which gave a more personal experience. Amazing to see the photos of the Palaces before the restoration started and to compare it to today.
This was a great tour with a charming, well-educated guide who spoke almost perfect English. But we were rather surprised to find that the two of us had a personal guided tour when we'd been expecting a 'small group tour'. Definitely not a problem though!
Lydia the tour guide turned this into a wonderful experience. Her depth of knowledge brought the history to life
We were happy with this tour which also gave us time to see the palace and the grounds. It was a small tour group which was good. I think we had a yound female guide with good people skills.
Small group tour, in a small bus (or may be some might call it a van). We were 7 in the group. Pleasant friendly guide Nida. She knew the history reasonably well and offered relevant information at the sites. Catherine's place is so over the top...with gold gold gold everywhere. The amber room was remarkably small compared to the other rooms. On the other hand the Pavlov palace was so much nicer, appeared people actually lived there. The Russian monarchy was strange and filled with stranger stories of love and betrayal. I am glad the revolution occurred! I would definitely recommend seeing both the places as they are 10 min from each ore.
The personal tour was good. The guide was very informed. As it was a slow day, of sorts, we got through Catherine Palace early enough. Because of that, we went to another palace of Paul the First, that was so good. In quality, I think it was every bit as good as the Catherine Palace. In some ways, maybe better.
What a great tour. A very, very knowledgable guide with expert commentary from the moment you enter your comfortable vehicle to make the 30 minute trip to Pushkin. The tour of the Palace was breathtaking in beauty and the expert history commentary made it an even richer experience. Plenty of time for photos and a ""skip the long long queue"" at the start was a bonus. This was a great start to my St Petersburg visit of three days. Highly reccommended.
Our guide was very personable, fluent in English and extremely helpful and informative.
The guide and driver were both excellent. This is a great way to get out to Pushkin from central St. Petersburg. We learned a lot on the way to the Palace and while there. Highly Recommended.
I recommend this tour to everyone. The town was beautiful and the people were great. Our tour guide was terrific
