Read what other Viator.com travelers think about the Stockholm Shore Excursion: Stockholm City Hop-on Hop-off Tour. What they loved, what they liked and what they think could be improved, it's all here to help you make the most of your next trip.
The bus driver did not accept my voucher I printed off. He eventually allowed us on. Great way to see Stockholm!! Did not appreciate the 10-20 minute stop at the square.
If you are coming off a cruise ship or just don't have enough time this is the perfect way to get a feel for the city and visit some of the high spots. We managed to had time to take a full tour of two of the routes, and to visit Gamla Stand (Old City) and the Royal Palace. Just don't make the mistake of going for their boat ride. Without actually saying so you are led to believe that this is THE trip through the Archipelago when in fact it's a boring boat ride on some lake. Apart from the we had no problems and decided that Stockholm is a place we'd love to return to.
Enjoyed ourselves, and our hop on hop off bus was in site as we disembarked the ship at this port..so that was a plus.
We find that a hop on hop off tour is the best way to get an informed overview of a city, we then walk the rest of the day dropping in at cafes and bars. If time allows my wife likes to do some shopping away from the tourist areas
The places to see were excellent but not well marked, the drivers didn't accurately know opening times nor pick up at the same places. 3 busses went past us while we waited at the same drop off spot.
This was nice to cover a lot of area, but the audio narration was not as detailed as many others we had been on in other locations. They were waiting when we disembarked the ship was nice and convenient! They brought us back to the ship as well as it was one of the stops.
As with hop on hop off principal time is necessary. Here ran out of time and also buses very busy.At times not able to get on bus because it was already full.More buses might have be better.
unfortunately, the hop on hop off bus service in copenhagen left a lot to be desired. We waited a lot for buses, and one bus actually drove right by us at one of the stop.
In other cities this system worked really well.
The company used had red and green buses which became confusing which bus to get on. We were turned away several times by bus drivers and told to wait for another bus. All buses looked the same! We were not the only people who had this problem. We were told the bus ran every 30 minutes but had to wait over 45 minutes for a bus to take us to the cruise ship. Another couple had already been waiting over 20 minutes when we got to the bus stop. We got to the ship with only 10 minutes to spare!!!
We couldn't find the green bus and no one at the terminal could tell us where to go. We finally found the green bus stop and waited 80 minutes--no bus and no sign telling us the stop times. We finally bought a ticket at the terminal for the red bus which meant that we threw away money. Again, if you like to take photos, windows were dirty and didn't open.
