Real good day harbour cruise fantastic, coach was good to see the northern beachs, and Sydney Tower Restraunt was surprisingly good
This was my first trip to Sydney, Austraiia and was only going to be there 2 days so this was a great way to see as much as possible in a short time. Great views from Sydney Tower.
Very good "look" at Sydney. Probably having 2 buffet meals in one day is a bit much especially as we got to the Tower at around 5:30, but overall very good.
Lunch cruise was great, bus tour was great, dinner in Tower Restaurant as very disappointing.
A couple of things to mention: it would be helpful to print on voucher for lunch cruise that you need to check in at booking office at pier 6 to receive boarding pass for boat - nearly missed the boat! Also on arrival at Darling Harbour, we were instructed to 'go up there' where someone was supposed to meet us to take us to the bus - no-one was there, we went to the cruise office nearby and asked about the bus tour. The person behind the counter then came outside holding a board to attract attention to bus tour patrons (bit late). She took us to where the bus would pull in (in 5-10 minute) then left us. 20 minutes later the bus arrived. We had to ask the bus driver what happens after dinner at the Tower and was told we are on our own. He told us how to get back to our hotel from the Tower.
These may seem little things to you but in such a tourist orientated city it is important to pay attention to all details for your visitors who are not familiar with the city.
The tour was OK, but buffet lunch provided by the harbour tour operator was below average and buffet dinner at Sydney Tower was very ordinary.
Although the weather was atrocious the harbour lunch was excellent as was the tour of Sydney but the food at the Sydney Tower was terrible. I would not recommend this to anyone.
We enjoyed each part of this day, but contrary to what we expected it was not a tour. It was in fact three separate events. All were great, but it was a bit disjointed and left us wondering where we were supposed to go next. If I hadn't printed off an extra copy of the tour voucher, we would have been out of luck with our dinner, as the voucher was kept by the cruise company.
We got off to a bad start as our booking could not be found when we rang to confirm it. Eventually, it was found and we looked forward to a great day complete with blue sky and sunshine! The Harbor Cruise section was great, the food was excellent, and the harbor was calm. There was not a ripple except for the occasional boat passing. The bus tour was somewhat disappointing, and our German visitors were lost as there was no commentary on the local landmarks or history. This section we thought could definitely be improved. The dinner in the revolving restaurant was great, although the servings were a bit small. The view was awesome and the night so very clear that we got a magic view of Sydney and all the lights.
