The Hunter Valley is Sydney's primary wine growing region and is only 2 hours north of the city. Enroute follow a section of the original convict built Old Great Northern Road and stop at the delightful Wollombi village established in the early 19th century. This tour will show off the regions vineyards and take the opportunity to learn more about our wines at the Hunter Valley Wine School. Your accommodation is either at the Hunter Resort or Peppers Guest House depending on your budget.

- More than just a wine tour: We explore rural farmland and Australian natural bush, mountain ranges and grazing land as well as panoramic perspectives of the Hunter Valley from Mount View.
- Morning tea at Australia Walkabout Wildlife Park at Calga: Enjoy uncaged native animals in a unique Australian Bush setting while having morning tea with fresh baked muffins.
- Convict and Pioneering history: View several sections of the original 1820 convict built Old Great Northern Road and travel through the historic Wollombi village, established in the early 19th century and a wonderful example of the small colonial rural townships of this era. We pause to taste "Dr. Jurds Jungle Juice" and have a short look around the village.
- Visit Hunter Valleys' best boutique wineries Sample up to 30 premium Hunter Wines at three boutique wineries, some of which are not available anywhere else in the world. Where possible, the winemaker will proudly present his product.
- Wine and food appreciation: Enjoy a tasting experience with a selection of food types matched with four premium Hunter Valley wines. Hand made chocolate and cheese tasting included daily.
- Delivered to your accommodation:The afternoon is free to stroll around the vineyards, visit the impressive Hunter Valley Gardens, go for a horse and carriage ride, or see the Hunter region by hot air balloon.
DAY 2: Hunter Valley Sydney (B)
- Join the Hunter Valley Wine School: After breakfast we transfer you to join the Hunter Valley Wine School. Walk through the on site vineyard of 30 year old Shiraz vines and discuss matters viticultural. Then it's off to the crusher and into the winery to see the air bag presses, huge tanks, the Potter Fermenters, the filtration equipment, and the largest Rotovats in the Hunter. An informal wine tutorial and tasting follows in the Wine Tasting Cellars.
- Continue remainder of the Hunter Valley Wine and Wilderness Day: On completion of the wine school you return to your accommodation to check out, and then at 2:00pm you are collected from your accommodation and continue on to a final wine tasting before commencing our return journey to Sydney via the freeway to arrive at your city hotel at approximately 5:30pm arrival.

Vehicles Used:The vehicles are the most comfortable and safe touring vehicles of their size and carry between 2 - 14 passengers. Standard features include air-conditioning, cloth covered seats, carpet and music system. We also have first aid kit, telephone, library of flora and fauna and binoculars.
