Hunter Valley Wine Tasting Day Tour from Sydney

Depart Sydney in the morning and travel to the Hunter Valley, passing by magnificent views of the Hawkesbury River, where you can see the remains of a convict built road winding into the Hunter Valley.

The Hunter Valley owes its reputation and fame to world-class viticulturists and fertile soils. Your first stop is Drayton's Winery, one of the region’s pioneering wine-making companies that is still family-owned and operated. You’ll taste their award-winning wines and experience over 150 years of wine-making excellence. Next, enjoy a private wine tasting experience at world renowned Lindemans before visiting Hunter Resort for a delicious luncheon is accompanied by wine tasting – your two-course lunch will be complimented with specially chosen wines.


After lunch, visit Bluetongue Brewery, home of Bluetongue Beer and perhaps try a tasting paddle of the available varieties (own expense), followed by Oakvale Winery for further tastings of great Australian wines.

The last stop will take you to to Hunter Valley Gardens, a quaint little township within the Hunter Valley. Explore the many hidden delights in the garden village – tantalize your taste-buds with artisan chocolates or enjoy a coffee at one of the many cafes (own expense) before returning back to Sydney where the tour concludes.

We enjoyed getting out of Sydney and seeing some of the beautiful Australian countryside. There was a good mix of wineries, and a very nice lunch on this tour.
