Opera Performance on Sydney Harbour

Aida, Opera on the Harbour

Aida is the biggest opera ever performed on this opera stage. What grander setting could there be for such a performance than Sydney Harbour itself, awash with the light of the city and the Sydney Opera House silhouetted against the setting sun? Amid all of the spectacle, the famous triumphal march, battle scenes and ancient temples, there's an emotional heart to this time-honored story.

Opera on the Harbour will open on March 27, 2015 for an exclusive four-week season, playing nightly on a purpose-built floating stage on Sydney Harbour. With the Sydney Opera House and the Harbour Bridge as a backdrop, this is a musical performance you won't forget.

Available for four weeks only from March 27 to April 26, 2015, Handa Opera on Sydney Harbour has become a huge part of the cultural landscape, combining all of the things Sydney does best: world-class opera, Champagne and fine dining, and sunsets and spectacle on the Harbour's edge.

This was wonderful. Loved the amazing set, the Sydney Harbour background, and of course the immensely talented cast. Not even a rain shower could dampen everyone's enthusiasm, instead there was much hilarity involved with all the audience donning the free plastic capes. Of course, the cast didn't miss a beat through it all. Highly recommend this event.

one would assume that going to the opera in Sydney Aus. would naturally mean going to the Sydney Opera House; not so, but the best thing is seeing a great opera on the water with a view of both the opera house and the bridge...spectacular experience!

Last night's performance was sensational! With such an amazing surrounding and a set built-up at perfection, the atmosphere was truly mind-blowing! Everything worked out wonderfully: costumes and choreography were delightful, and the power and harmony of the Orchestra and the singing made it a superb experience. A must-see show for entertainment lovers!

Carmen was absolutely amazing! If you have the opportunity to go see it, I highly recommend it. Not only is the opera itself fantastic - the singers and costumes were spot on, but the location is unbeatable - a beautiful opera back-dropped by the beautiful Sydney Harbour Bridge and Opera House! Not to be missed!
