This trip was a great day out. The buffet lunch on the ship was amazing - great food and they kept it coming so you could definitely eat as much as you wanted. The dolphins were swimming all around the boat the whole time, unfortunately none of them decided to jump out of the water though. The Wildlife park was really a cute little park - and it was fun petting the koalas.
The Australian Wildlife park was my favorite by far. Unfortunately, our tour was running behind so we only had an hour there. Sand boarding was a lot of fun. Feel free to eat lunch on your own, there are several restaurants and cafes right by the dock. The Dolphin Watching was great, bring your swimsuit as on the way back you can swim just off the boat.
We really enjoyed our day. I wish the time at the Australian Reptile Park was a little longer though. We did get to pet a koala bear and pet and feed kangaroos. The dolphin cruise was exceptional for dolphin viewing, but the food was only mediocre. The sand boarding was just like snow sledding. It looked like fun but we chose not to do it because it was raining. The people who did sand board really enjoyed it. The bus had wifi which was a major plus!!
The tour was amazing! Pick up point was convenient and on schedule. My kids particularly loved sand boarding down the sand dunes. We saw 8-10 dolphins on the cruise, thought the sea was a bit choppy that day. Tour guide was professional. Highly recommended.
A a great option to experience a little bit of what Australia has to offer! Feeding kangaroos, petting koalas, embarking to the dolphin watching lucky to see over 30 dolphins this past November 2014! Also dont forget to bring your swim suit to go in the net at the back of the boat on the way back to shore, it was a great way to end the dolphin adventure! We took the lunch on board, there are other options to eat at marina, however, being able to eat on the ship allowed us to get good seats on the top of ship once we finished our meal. Ending the day with sand boarding with the 4x4 vehicles was really fun!
When you get picked up at hotel or other close locations, it is not your actual tour, but rather a bus to bring you to the main tour company location, once you arrive there, then you will board your tour bus!
This tour was fab, as was our tour guide (Tom). The only recommendation for a 'do differently' is don't choose the 'include lunch' option. It's very tailored to the Asian audience. There's lots of places to get food before getting on the ferry (we were recommended the chippy next to the gift shop)
Fantastic trip, lovely new coach, Mark our tour guide very informative and helpful, really enjoyed the trip, would recommend this tour.
Our ship captain was exceptional, let the Dolphins come go us. The sand boarding was an experience not to be missed, great 4WD to get there then top instruction and away we sent, awesome.
It was great! The buiffet on the boat was really good so I would recommend purchasing it instead of eating in town. The Sandboarding was amazing!!!
The tour is well organized. Our driver cum guide Paul was gentle and knowledgable. We saw Australian Reptile Park on the way. Upon reaching Nelson Bay, we boarded the dolphin cruise and were quite lucky to see a lot of dolphins. Beach Birubi was the last stop where we experienced the sanddunes.
Awesome day trip and comes highly recommended and met some really nice people on our tour! Despite only seeing a few dolphins on this particular day the bay views were great and we saw military jets flying at very low altitude in the area- training of course :-)
Sand boarding was great but take care of your camera if you plan to take pictures on the dunes…the sand could easily damage your lens operation although the pictures was certainly worth the risk! I was expecting to do a lot more adventure 4WD driving over the sand dunes but it ended up being a short ride to and from the dunes to our bus. Other than that, I certainly recommend this trip for anyone visiting Sydney!
Even though it was a long day, it was a great trip! The stop by the reptile sanctuary was fun, we saw a bunch of dolphins, and the sand boarding was great!
Great attractions even before getting to see and swim with the dolphins such as feeding kangaroo at reptile park.
'Sandboarding' was fun as well and wonderful sightseeing all through the day.
Really good fun - saw quite a few dolphins although they didn't quite jump out of the water as far as the pics suggested and were certainly difficult to photograph as they weren't too close to the boat, despite the driver's best efforts to go towards them, they kept swimming away!
The sandboarding afterwards was really good fun - the hardest part was walking back up the steep sand dunes!
We had paid for lunch on this trip but we weren't given lunch vouchers. I queried this and the lady with the clipboard when boarding the coach said we weren't down to have lunch. I checked my email, confirmed I was right, and complained. They were very quick to apologise and admit their mistake and refunded us the correct amount for two lunches, in pounds sterling.
It was a perfect day! :) I can recommend it to everyone who wants to have a great day!
Excellent tour, coach driver was extremely informative and overall highly recommended.
It was amazing trip. Enjoyed everything. Had to struggle long time to see dolphin and finally saw two of them but only for few seconds. 4wd was awesome. Loved sand boarding. Thanks to our coach Henry who allowed us to do camel riding as well though we didn't have much time. Live commentary on board was quite informative and funny sometimes. Thanks a lot for wonderful day. :)))
The trip was absolutely fantastic! The pick up time was on the dot, and the driver of the coach extremely informative and helpful. I will certainly undertake more trips with Viator in the future.
Bring your sunscreen when on the boat and sandboarding. Don't bother trying to take a picture or video of the dolphins...just be in the moment. Sandboarding is loads of fun. Don't feel bad if you eat sand, I don't think it's avoidable.
The day was great. We finally had sunshine! I did fall on the bus and have a hemotoma on my knee. I am getting better but will take time. We did not do the 4WD part because of my injury and we had lost our camera on the boat. Due to the exceptional service provided by the bus driver James, we did retrieve our camera through the tour bus company on the following Monday. That was a great blessing!
