A wonderful afternoon out on the ocean. Instead of being on a massive catamaran, jostling for a view, we had a relaxed time, just the skipper and the two of us (they take a max of 12). Tony, our skipper and host, was friendly, knowledgeable and determined to find us a whale. He found two, and the second one spent 45 minutes entertaining us with pirouettes and chin slaps - at least 45 of them. Tony didn't turn back, he just waited until the show was over, meaning that we were at sea an hour longer than advertised. Now that's service!
Tony is a very warm and friendly tour guide, perfect for the winter sydney weather, bespoke services on small group cruise. Tony is also very conscious to our comfort and tour experiences due to the choppy ocean waves once the boat leave sydney harbour.
Friendly and knowledgeable guide, small group in a small boat. More than met expectations.
We had a great day-Tony was very accommodating. There were only a total of 4 of us on the trip so we were very lucky. We followed a 9 metre hump back for 4 hours and were lucky enough to see it breach as well as flap it's tail several times. Highly recommend this trip which is personalised rather than being on boat with dozens of people
Tony and Biggles are amazing, we had a brilliant 4+ hours with them. We followed a mother and calf humped back whale with an escort, Biggles explained all about the whales while Tony sailed the boat, we sailed along side these whales for about an hour and saw them breach twice which was brilliant. Tony also sent us a picture that a boat opposite from us had sent to the Sydney Telegraph that showed one of the breaches with the Katarina behind and us onboard. Not something that you always get but a lovely momentous of the day, we could even pick ourselves out on the boat. The sail back to the harbour was also good with a few of the passengers taking the helm. Tony is very passionate about the whales and this shows in the time you have with him, he makes you very welcome aboard and takes care of you and the others while making sure those who felt sea sick were ok. Because the maximum is 12 on this trip you get a personnel experience of whale watching. Loved every minute.
This is the best holiday in all our personal trips to different countries. Megan, Malcolm and I were extremely fortunate to meet Tony Smith who is the owner of the boat. Together with his friend, Biggles, we learned so much about whales. Our close encounters with the whales were spectacular. Words just cannot express what we have experienced.
Thank you so much Tony, for giving us an extremely, memorable trip. It was fantastic and it’s the best trip for my family. This is really once in a life time moment. Like what Biggles said, we will not have similar encounter the next trip if we were to go for another whale venture. Our decision to go with your company for this cruise is the best decision. Thanks again. Felicia, Megan and Malcolm (13 June 2013)
Tony and Dennis made the trip very enjoyable. The whales jumped for us and coming back to Sydney Harbour at sunset was spectacular. Being on a yacht with only a few guests made the experience really special. Thanks
We saw the first whales in this year!!:) It was too cold but Tony gave us jackets and it was ok:) We didn't see how whales jump, we saw just one lazy jump:)) but in any case it was great experiance!! U have to be patiant when u do the tour like that:)
Far exceeded our expectations. One of if not the highlight of our trip. Tony was great and we saw many whales.
What a great day - we had a fantastic time 'chasing' all the sightings. We were able to see many whales, and it was a professional end extremely friendly day. Thanks so much to the sailing company. I would recommend this trip to anyone.
This is really good, and there's a very personal group which is fantastic -- there were just three of us when I did it. It's a lot of fun trying to spot and get closer to the whales. I also got a chance to help sail the boat through the harbour, which definitely made this an experience I will never forget. The best thing was that I didn't get seasick even though I usually do. I was probably having too much of a good time to feel seasick!
My sister from overseas and niece and I enjoyed the special experience of whale watching together.
Never saw any whales, but saw a lot of dolphins, got a good suntan, and had a very good pilot.
It was an amazing trip. We were the only ones on the boat that day, so it was amazing to have to all to ourselves. Our captain was a great guy! We saw some awesome humpback whales. We got to see their faces and a tail. We weren't lucky enough to see a whale breach nearby, but it was still exceptional.
It was a very enjoyable day, we had perfect weather, beautiful sunny Sydney morning, saw a few pods of whales - just magical!! What a great way to also see the sights of Sydney, Luna Park, Opera House and the Sydney Harbour Bridge... Highly recommended!
