Great backstage tour. The guide was excellent and very knowledgeable. The small group made
it easy to ask questions and get details of the Opera House.
Great docent...felt very special...remember to bring your walking shoes for lots of stairs
While we have done several other tours of the Opera House and attended performances there this was a truly unique experience. Our guide, Holly, was outstanding. She was very full of great information about the building and the performers who have appeared there. To top it off, the breakfast in the Green Room was one of the best we had in Sydney!
Very knowledgeable guide, and fascinating backstage. Who gets to walk on a catwalk at Sydney opera house and also see stars dressing rooms with a view, in addition to walking on the stages to see the performers perspective.
What a wonderful tour, the guide was absolutely superb, and the backstage experience took my breath away, I even got to play the Steinway piano......
A wonderful tour in to the heart of a truly beautiful creation, our guide we had was so easy to listen to and was a fantastic educator, very knowledgeable. The breakfast afterwards was very filling with a wide choice to choose from. The aroma from the freshly made coffee and pastries oh yum.
The Guided Backstage Tour of Sydney's Opera House, including breakfast, is an opportunity not to be missed. You'll visit several stages, prop storage, numerous dressing rooms, and even the green room where the performers relax. Although pretty deserted early in the morning, you'll feel like you're rubbing elbows with the stars! Your guide will share many backstage stories about the many artists who have performed at the Opera House over the decades. This tour is a must do!
Great tour. Guide was very knowledgable and seemed to truly love her job. Interesting behind the scene stories. We were able to see several different theaters, from different perspectives orchestra pit, light booth, center stage, audience, etc. We were not permitted to take any pictures of set pieces - I understand but it was unfortunate. The breakfast was tasty but outdoors and we were bothered by aggressive birds. Definitely worth getting up early to gain the extra access.
This tour was fabulous. We got to see all the different venues, dressing rooms, the behind the scenes working at the opera house, stages. They kept the tour to 12 people which made it easy to hear and see. On the same day we saw an event on the main stage venue which made it very special that we were standing on just a few hours before.
It was a great moment! we really appreciated!
Good time and interesting
What an extensive and enjoyable tour and breakfast. It was much more than I had expected and our guide was fabulous! Please note that there are MANY stairs so that would be the only caution for those who have movement challenges. I loved our guide and his extensive knowledge of ALL the stages within the opera house complex. I would recommend this highly to anyone!
This was a wonderful tour of the Opera house. Our tour guide was knowledgeable and helpful. It was very interesting seeing the how productions and stage props are managed backstage. We also enjoyed breakfast in the cafeteria where the performers eat.
The tour was outstanding. It was worth the time to get up early for it. We were in small groups which made it that much better. We learned a lot about how intricate and complicated productions are as well
as what goes on during the performance timetable, green room, etc. Got to eat where the performance eat. Saw the props for Sleep Beauty, walked on the stage and into the orchestra pit. Amazing. Hear
stories about some of the performance, etc. Had an interesting and knowledge guide.
The person who showed us around was very informative. Full breakfast, delicious. It was held in the employee/artists cafeteria and was I found it very interesting to see how the employee/artists enjoy their services on site.
The Opera House, as you can imagine, is also wonderful on the inside.
It is an early morning start, but worth it.
Our tour guide, Vicky, was fabulous! She took us into so many behind the scene places it was amazing. Plus, she was a wealth of information which is enjoyed sharing. I'd highly recommend this tour!
You'll probably never get closer to see how things happen behind the scenes. Our guide, Daryl, was excellent and provided a lot of interesting facts and observations from his 20 years of experience conducting tours. The breakfast was great and although it wasn't in the Green Room, it was much nicer sitting outside at the harbor. I would highly recommend this tour to those that don't mind getting up early.
Jeanette was very knowledgeable about the Opera House and had a lot of very good stories for behind the scenes. This is a great tour, and finishing with breakfast in the Green Room was a plus. The Opera House is beautiful and really amazing.
This was a wonderful experience. We loved being on stage and seeing all the backstage activities, especially the orchestra pit. Our grandson plays the bass violin and we photographed that spot in the pit, as well as one of the violas, as our granddaughter plays that. We heartily recommend this tour.
This tour was well worth the price and the early hour! We thoroughly enjoyed the look at behind the scenes areas of the opera house, and the breakfast was bountiful and delicious.
Very interesting to see behind the scenes, informative guide, expensive but worth it
This is a very early morning tour starting at 7:00 am so keep that in mind when booking. My husband and I took this tour along with about 10 others. We had a great guide and learned so much about the history and most importantly about Jorn Utzun, the Danish Artchitect who was the winner of the international competition to build a national opera house at Bennelong Point, Sydney in 1957 and how it went for him. We were surprised by the story. The opera house is really special and I had no idea it was a multi venue showing art center. There are 5 stages that you will visit and each one was designed for a specific venue. We learned that the tiles on the outside were made in Sweden and are self washing. We did not get into the area where the props were as there was some work welding going on and it was a safety issue. We did get to visit the green room. I can't remember why, but we were treated to our breakfast on the outside patios overlooking the Sydney Harbor Bridge. It doesn't get much better than that. Take the tour and have a great time. We did.
