Read what other Viator.com travelers think about the 4-Day Tour of Central and Southern Taiwan from Taipei Including Kaohsiung and Sun Moon Lake. What they loved, what they liked and what they think could be improved, it's all here to help you make the most of your next trip.
Sun moon lake is gorgeous! What a serene and romantic place. For Kaohsiung tour, just a suggestion- do not combine non-speaking English clients with English clients. Very uncomfortable not understanding what the tour guide and non-speaking English were talking about the whole tour.
Southern Taiwan is so interesting, quite different from the north. Great accommodation choice and guide was fantastic! Highly recommended!
We loved our 'trip south.' Three were from L.A.(Mandarin and English); two from Shanghai (Mandarin); and us (English). The guide made the whole trip enjoyable for all and created special experiences...visual and gourmet. The south is so different from the busy north...this was a great way to see it!
We enjoyed the four day tour very much. Both guides communicated well in English and were good with people. Guides were very helpful in getting us to our train connections and made good suggestions for places to eat. Due to road noise it would be helpful for the tour guide to use a microphone.
Excellent value for this tour, stayed one night in 4.5 stars hotel and 2 nights in 4 stars hotel. All 3 tour guides pick up and drop off very on time. 2 guides English are fair but one guide ( Billy Lin) spoke very good English, knowlegeable and very attentive. I will recommend this tour to my friends and will certainly book tour with Viator in near future. Thank you.
This tour gave a really good insight into Taiwan. As we had toured the East coast we felt that this completed it for us. Walter was a good guide who was able to answer our many and varied questions. The accommodation was excellent. We do not often go on guided tours so have been very pleasantly surprised.
Taiwan is a great place to visit and I highly recommend it. I wish I kind of knew how this compared to other tours of Taiwan that were offered but I enjoyed the experience I had overall. A little more interaction from the guides would have been nice, and I'm not entirely sure how I felt about them having us figure out our own meals when English isn't found on most menus. Our first guide seemed somewhat disinterested, but I very much appreciated Billy, our guide for Kaohsiung and southern Taiwan for his lively commentary and genuine love for his hometown.
The program of this tour was interesting. It did give us a nice view of Taiwan. One little point of negative for us was how the driver took some risks in the traffic. Our personal guide could tell us a lot of interesting things about the temples, pagodes, culture and nature of Taiwan.
